I see that the thread has been moved from the Seeds forum to the Co-ops, Group Buys and Classified forum. The thread "2013 Hog Wild Swap @ Cubits" in Classifieds and Group Buys forum Not sure why because we have put it on the Seeds forum for the past 2 years and nobody seemed to mind. Oh well, in a perfect world we could have it in both forums but we will take what we can get nodding We may actually get more views in the Co-op forum Thumbs up

I wonder why a swap (trading) is in the Co-ops / Group Buys forum instead of Plant and Seed Trading?

Oh, well, we have a thread title here and in "Co-ops", and links here to the thread there.

"The swap will officially start NOVEMBER 16th at 5:00 PM EST., 2013 and will run until Midnight on December 16th, 2013."

But it is a good idea to sign up now and create your "HAVE" list of seeds you want to offer. Also, if you're not already signed up on cubits, signing up before the last minute let's you send more "C-mails" per day for the first week or so.

It's always a good Idea to think carefully about your wishlist, since people always have more seeds than they list. If they see that you are wishing for something specific or general, and they have it, they'll probably offer it to you specifically.

I'm running late on counting my trade packets and updating my lists!

I hope to see lots of you in the barnyard on Starting Day.

I'm taking a break from swapping seeds to say I agree I agree with you - this is the most fun ever! Hurray!
And my fingers are getting a workout researching each seed before I 'oink' for it to be sure it will have a chance to grow for me...and if it's edible!

I agree I joined in last minute and was really overwhelmed at first but I am having so much fun! Same for me, greene, I have to look up a lot of the seeds listed before I start oinking uninformed.

Yes, sometimes you see a fancy botanical name and say, 'Ooh, that looks interesting", only to find that it is really Pokeweed! Be careful what you oink for; you may just get it!
Now I will get back to oinking...

Pokeweed, if I knew it was growing in my yard and had if I had picked the young leaves in the spring and cooked them in two changes of water, that would be a good thing.
But this one grew itself behind a tree where I could not see it. Once the tree was cut down, and we found this monster 7 foot tall Pokeweed growing, my dog Jack helped to dig out the 'root' of the Pokeweed plant - this root from outer space was almost 4 feet long and about as fat as a football for much of its length. The only good thing was that it grew horizontally and so Jack was able to dig it out with help from myself and two of my friends. Oh, and I had to pay the two friends $20 for helping; Jack works for peanuts.
I'm sure there will be plenty more sprouting up in the spring. C'mon over and make lunch!

Boy, do I feel dumb...I just looked up pokeweed. I used to call it burdock...or my husband did and since I didn't know, I just went along. Ugh, I hate them too! Just have a few which I keep cutting down so they don't go to seed but I can't get rid of them.

Hilarious! Hilarious! Good for you guys!

Seriously, I never knew what it was, just that it was growing wild so I kept cutting it down.
