AnnaZ said:Is there any particular reason that the text is now clear at the bottom of the square with our avatar and any badges? Looks like there is no text, just an empty "text box" until you scroll way down. Very strange. Hard to follow, too.

The reason is that MSIE 7 is an ancient browser and has a lot of trouble displaying modern code. I programmed the site to run fast and look good in modern browsers and that means that people using very old software may get a less than perfect experience.

There is no good reason that I can think of to continue to use MSIE 7 when better versions of it exist, and better browsers like Google and Chrome exist.

I'll quit preaching now.

Anna, although I was not having horrible problems with IE, I did recently switch to Firefox (in response to encouragement from this web site). It was easy and painless, nothing new to learn, I just have to remember to click on the little fox icon rather than the big E to get online. I can't really tell a difference, although not seeing anything strange is likely a difference all in itself. Give it a whirl - you can switch back and forth from IE to FF and see if things behave better for you one way or the other.

I highly recommend listening to Dave on this!! I was a loooong time IE user & fan. Because I develop websites I would always test them on other browsers but still used IE as my browser of choice. About a year ago I noticed that Firefox was doing a MUCH better job with the websites I built. IE just wasn't keeping up with new technology. I guess it was about 6 months ago that I completely quit using IE as my browser & I couldn't be happier. Goodbye crashes, hello 2013! Firefox is easy to get used to & there are lots of folks, me included that would be happy to help if you have any questions.

I tried Firefox awhile back. I was not impressed and clicked "uninstall".

Strange........angele's post was "the way they always have been", everyone else's is at the bottom of the text area. *sigh*.

I have heard horror stories about Chrome.............IDK.................*sigh again*

Anna, the more badges a person has, the bigger the space, since the badges are shown one per line down the right side of the text box instead of in two lines on top.

Now all the badges are along the upper right and everything is as it used to be. For whatever reason it is now like that again, I thank you.

I like fast Thumbs up though I never had any speed issues on here. It has always worked great for me. I like the new badge look. I especially like the mobile version. It is super easy to use! Thanks! Hurray!

I programmed it to display them using the old method to IE users and the new method to all the other browsers. Thumbs up

Thank you, Dave. I appreciate that.

I tried to put a smiley in a post this morning and it wouldn't attach. It wouldn't attach now either. Not a deal-breaker for me.

I keep our computers /IMac ( DH), my MacBook pro ( 2006 and Lion) and and IPad ( oldest version) up to date and don't see any of those problems/glitches reported here and similar threads. I think Safari on a Mac is nowadays faster than Firefox, but that could be my imagination. I use on rare occasion Sea Monkey, stuff loads very fast on that too.
Keep up the good work, Dave! Thumbs up

And incidentally, Betty, your browser is now revealing itself as MSIE 10. I wonder if you changed anything on your side which upgraded this and that's why all is working for you.

Dave I didn't change a thing, my browser is set to update automatically. Strange but at least now everything is working fine on ATP. Shrug! Confused
