INCESSANT is gorgeous Rita! Wish I had room to plant all the daylilies I'd love to add. I love Jim and Margo's plants!

Margo's ORANGUTAN is one of the first to bloom in my garden each year.

Ann, those are gorgeous pictures. I have added as many of their lates and extra lates as I could find but I do have some of the regular season bloomers.

Why, why, why did you do this, Michele and Juli? I didn't know they had updated their website. I just ordered a "Sand Witch" (no mayo) from Margo! I love the unusual color of it, and the form!

The problem I had, is that I want some of their older ones - and MANY of those are "sold out" or "display only"

I was kinda bummed. I admit, I love their new ones, but can't afford them yet.

I feel the same way Sad Would like to add a few more of theirs but all I see is " Sold Out" or "Display Only".

I've been to their place, and they have a finite amount of space to grow daylilies - they had to put up an 8' deer fence around their display garden and seedling garden. So, in order to keep moving forward with new intros, something had to give, and Margo said that she had to quit growing some of her introductions, which she thought she would never do. I don't know if "sold out" means they have absolutely none left with every plant listed that way, or just not enough to sell right now. I know that one of Margo's intros that has been on my wish list, Free Radical, is not listed at all any more. Crying

I have some of the plants listed as sold out. If you guys let me know what you want, I will share them if I have enough.

I have wanted Free Radical for awhile now too. That is really too bad that they won't be selling some.

I just don't care about room or no room. I have too much trouble with the consept that a hybridizer no longer grows his or her intros. So you think it is good enough to be an intro but after that you no longer think it is good enough to grow? Sorry, that just makes me steamed. I don't know if that is actually true in this case but I know other hybridizers that have done that, stopped growing thier own intros. Really, really, really bugs me when that happens. Grumbling

Maybe they simply don't have enough room on their property and want to keep up the hybridizing and growing of new seedlings and have to make a choice -- I can understand that.

I am now defending my friends Jim and Margo:

Betty, that is their situation from what I understand. I can't imagine the expense of putting up that deer fence, because their two gardens are HUGE. I know that Curt Hanson no longer grows quite a few of his older ones, although I know he has introduced many, many, many DLs. If you can't afford a crew to take care of your expanding gardens, or can't expand, there is only so much you can do. Margo said that since her space is fenced in, she can't extend a bed here or there to make more room.

I just got the Woodhenge catalog today, and Free Radical is in it! Omitting it from the website must have been an oversight.

Whoops!

I just looked at the web site again, and Free Radical IS listed under the Sales List link, but not under the Margo Reed - All Intros link.

When you live in an area where deer reside, you definitely need a barrier to keep them out. I know as we deal with it here. Sad
I've added so many new garden beds and if you do want to expand you need help to maintain what you do have OR eliminate to allow for new arrivals. I just went through this and can understand how difficult it is in deciding what stays and what goes. Confused

There is always the off chance you'll find that special Reed/Murphy/Hanson or whoever on another growers sales list when the hybridizer no longer offers it themselves.

I am placing an order with Woodhenge as I found other cultivars that will suit my needs. Thumbs up

If you still have a craving for adding more daylilies, check out seller Murphy on the LA. Yes, it is Jim Murphy. I picked up a couple more
