This is my favorite weeding tool, I try others and usually go back to it, I bought it a few years ago at the Canadian Tire store, I would presume that it can be purchased elsewhere. Enlarge to see all of the image. Green Grin!

But then I got to thinking about it, and I'd have to say that that my tractor 'seat' has become my favorite! Hilarious! My old knees aren't what they use to be, and this has become my most valuable of all tools!
Thumb of 2013-12-05/terrafirma/a9dda4
And of course all the little hand tools fit in the basket under the seat!

I've been wanting one of those too... glad to see good reviews here, maybe I can work it into the budget sometime!

In the winter my favorite tool is not a Garden tool!
It is a roofer's tool, which roofers use to take old shingles off,--- by sliding it under the shingles.
It works great to take ice off the sidewalks. You ram it under the ice the same as they do for shingles.
This was not my idea----got it from another person.

We bought one of those, it is called an ice mover/scraper, specifically designed for the ice, our driveway gets really bad once the snow starts to melt, warm during the day then freezing at night and it get patches of thick ice. We bought it at Home Hardware.

Yes, our street has not be cleaned that well, and the snow on the road is higher than the sidewalk so when it melts it runs over the sidewalk. I can keep the run off from the yard from icing up ,but there is just too much from the road.

Back in the old days it was a tool-set of; a star-chisel and feather and wedges.. One has only to wrestle for a little time with a volkswagon sized boulder in new england to love this tool.

Today as I tend my bonsai, its gotta be a chop-stick. Life cannot go on without them.

Mine is a shovel that I found in a shed when we bought our place. Something about the shovel just seems magical. I'm sure it mainly has to do with it was the first tool i used to start our whole food growing adventure.

Again, I'm so happy to have this new "tools" forum! This is another thread that I never saw until now...

The first post, Frank's tractor, I would pretty much kill for; but in my simpler world my two favorite tools (at the moment, at least, are a hand hoe similar to this -- which I don't remember where I got (maybe A.M. Leonard, I think)

Thumb of 2014-07-30/Weedwhacker/215d10

The other, which probably should be the first, has seriously been a godsend to me because my hips and knees apparently are no longer in mint condition... this came from Gardener's Supply

Thumb of 2014-07-30/Weedwhacker/2f0de4

And I should also mention my spading fork, which I requested for my birthday present a number of years ago !
Oh, and our well-worn rototiller, which was the first thing we bought together about 27 years ago...

(I mean, really -- who can pick just one favorite??)

I got that kneeling bench for my DH so he can help more in the garden too! I love it as well. Have a hard time getting up any more so that helps!

Edited to add: And I'm still waiting for my super sharp shovel to ship! It's been over a week and it still hasn't shipped, or at least they haven't changed the status to shipped.

New Member here: My ho-mi or Korean hoe (now you have a name for it weedwhacker), I use it for almost everything and don't know how I lived without one now. Next would be my kneeling pad that turned up the other way becomes a comfortable stool and even has a compartment for carrying small hand tools under the seat.

Welcome to ATP, Yurtle63 ! I have to agree about the kneeler/stool -- I think that has pretty much moved up to #1 for me at this point! Smiling
