I can't take credit for it, David. The screws with washers were recommended by a blog we were linking to earlier in this thread. It sure is a wonderful tip!!

Looking good, Dave! Thumbs up I have the inside of my GH all "moved in" in my head....before it is even built!! I love your in ground garden of radishes and plant to have a small raised garden within the walls of my GH. Good news on the number of clips used, too. Great job!

I also used the screws and neoprene washers and have never lost a panel.

It looks great Dave. I love the aquaponics. But you'd better get busy on the second layer of shelving, you'll be all filled up soon!

Maybe if I took some pictures of all my frozen plants in my greenhouse I would get motivated to clean it up!

Oh, you're gonna love having the bed in the greenhouse! I planted a few snow peas in mine today!

I'm planning to start several trays of tomatoes, peppers and more today so I think that second layer of shelving is going to suddenly become a HIGH priority!

Thumbs up Yep!

I started my peppers yesterday but they won't go into the greenhouse for quite awhile yet. Tomatoes this week!

I plan to start a few things this week, I have to find my piece of corian, I put away, it's just the right size for the heat mat with 2 trays on top. The corian panel keeps the heat under the trays very stable. I'm already getting excited for our Mid-Atlantic seed swap, that's coming up in 2 weeks in Fredrick, Md. I did pretty well with my seeds last year. I started almost all my herbs.

Ric., I used to live near Easton, MD but I never knew about the seed swap. Is it always in Fredrick? I did the Piggy Seed Sway online. It was so much fun! Expecting my package this week sometime. This was my first year doing a seed swap. The weather has delayed the package a bit but it took me this long to get in the mood anyway.

Dave, is it warm enough in your greenhouse for your peppers to germinate out there?

I always use a heat mat on my peppers. But you might be right in asking the question: peppers really do like heat and the greenhouse may not be warm enough. Maybe I should start those indoors and as soon as they germinate, bring them out. I'll think on that a bit.

I use a heat mat as well but just assumed it was too cool in the greenhouse to germinate. Maybe not since it's the soil temperature, not the air temperature. But at any rate, they are slow enough I don't think I'll take any chances. I have moved them to the greenhouse after they are potted up though.

Dave, I have some tomatoes and peppers I started in doors with heat mats and have now placed them out in the GH. but I have been eating cherry tomatoes all winter long ( when the grandson doesn't beat me to them). That has been my one draw back ever since he started eating tomatoes. But that's better for him then most of the other junk kids want.

James, how big were your peppers when you put them out in the greenhouse? I know tomatoes can take the cooler temps but I always thought peppers like the heat.

The peppers have 4 true leaves. I still have them on a heat pad in the greenhouse though. In the past before I had a greenhouse it took for ever for me to ever get any peppers Hot or sweet. So I don't know if this is going to work but I am giving it a try.

Hmm, in the greenhouse on a heat mat. I think I'll experiment and put some out when they have true leaves and leave some inside to compare!

The seed swap in Fredrick is a Mid-Atlantic Forum from Dave's Garden, we've been together for years, We usually have 1 seed swap in Feb. and lately 2 plant swaps a year. We meet in early May, since our frost free date is usually around Mother's day, and again about the end of Sept. before frost. We all bring food, wine, and plants, and take turns hosting, to visit different gardens, do group buys on everything from bulbs to soil mixes. Many thanks to the guy who started it all, I hear he's still bringing gardeners together. LOL
I spent most of my day cleaning and organizing our GH. Thumbs up

Well Eric, when I was in MD I probably wouldn't have been able to do the seed/plant swap anyway because I was still working and commuting 130 mi. back and forth to D.C. so I didn't have a lot of extra time, but it sure sounds like fun.

James, yes, lets keep in touch about the peppers!

Arlene, I had a thought today and think I will be trying this with the GH peppers to keep the heat on during cooler times. I have in a box some where one of those portable zip up greenhouses. If I could ever learn how to get pictures on the computer would be better. The portable ones that stand about 5ft. high and are about 24in. by 18in. With a zipper down the middle. Could place this in the stand alone GH and place the peppers into it when cooler days and nights are expected. I do believe this would work to our advantage. Let me know what you think. James

James, I have three of those mini greenhouses that I do put inside the greenhouse! With the heating pad, I do believe that could work. I actually have two peppers that have already germinated and I only planted on Friday! Franks, an extra early pepper!
