That's a very nice setup you have David. My doors still work well after a couple of years and the added weather stripping helped seal them quite well. The one problem I did have was condensation freezing in the lower track, but a tablespoon of table salt cured that. I have an Anderson 6' sliding door I plan to build into the front this summer since I think a lot of my heat loss still occurs through the doors. That will also allow me to use the screen door to keep unwanted insects out. I have my shade cloth on a long piece of bamboo that I can roll up and store in the barn. When in use it just rolls down to cover the sun ward side and roof. Since Holly saw your shade cloth setup she has added that to my to do list. Hilarious! This winter has just been brutal here with heating cost adding up quickly, I plan to make some changes to the north facing walls to address that.

I not only completely wrapped my two greenhouses in Solar Blanket material this fall but also put an additional (drop-down) piece of solar wrap in front of my north-facing sliding doors. I just roll it up when it is not freezing/blowing and Velcro secures it above the sliding doors.

Very well! Of course I'm heating it now using my little quartz heater. I bought a special plug that turns on the power when the temp drops to 35 degrees and then turns back off when it gets up to 45. Pretty neat and that's been working perfectly.

I have the aquaponics tank up and running with goldfish for now. In a month or so I'll add catfish.

Lots of plants are in there and more coming, and my little raised bed has radishes already germinated. Smiling I need to get out there and take some new pics. I'll try to do that today.

Dave, why don't you look into growing Talipia in your fish aquaponics set up. Another free food source.

If Tilapias were easily available to me here I'd be very pleased to do that, but those have to be special ordered and I don't want to mess with that. Catfish is easily obtainable locally here.

We just had fresh Tilapia last night from my pond! The water changes are incredible for the plants. Smiling

Been doing them for 5 years and they are the same Nile Perch that Jesus and his desciples were likely catching in the Sea of Galilee!
(from my research)

Oreochromis aureus. Blue Tilapia or Nile Perch.

Note how I brought in more sand to the area leading to the greenhouse. I brought up this sand from the bottomland and shaped it to make a nice ramp to walk right up. I didn't want the sand pressed against the GH base so I put some PT wood against it as you can see in the photo. Anyway this makes a very nice entrance to the greenhouse and also provides a nice sloping drainage.

With these screws in place I have absolutely no fear of losing panels. In fact, I didn't even use all the panel clips that HF included with the GH.

Here's the entrance looking inside. Since I brought the sand up on the outside, and filled the inside with gravel, I really only have about a 2" tall opening there. It's very easy to step over.

It looks great Dave and love the aquaponics addition a lot. How cool is that indeed! Thumbs up

My favorite shared picture is the one of the hex screws holding on the polycarbonate panels. It is the addition of the rubber based washers that made that picture my favorite. You were wise, and that is exactly the right thing to share for those thinking of one of these greenhouses;... as without the washers, the screws alone will eat right through the panels with wind and Summer heat. That was a great tip to share!

I did the same.
