When My Brugs bloom I'm going to try to get a pic of Charley with a brug bloom in his forelock. I cut his mane. Couldn't make me cut the forelock it is so pretty and he couldn't care less.

Anytime after the make the Y shape in the top. They will start forming buds soon after the Y. Then it takes forever to get from tiny bud till open buds. Big Grin

Ooowww, not sure there partner. Mine always make the y long before the growing season is up. Blinking I have blooms every year. Maybe someone from the brug professionals place will know. I'm sorry. I'm no authority but mine never took more than a couple months to put on blooms.

Best to get them from the Y. Only bad thing there is you may have some really short plants. Don't pinch them, that won't help, I did that last year and still didn't get blooms. they will bloom, I hate to say it but you got to be PATIENT. I sure am not!!!!!! But you learn to be.

NO I wouldn't pinch the tops out because that is what the Y comes off of, and you prolong it forming if you do that. When you get a cutting in the fall , take it from above the Y so it will bloom early the next year.

Yup I agree with Charleen. Use a good plant food and I use miracle grow on mine.Bloom booster. Big Grin
I also use the soil that feeds for 9 months but I add plant food in the water to give it a boost.
