She always has such beautiful daylilies! But the dormants usually don't do as well for me as the EV's and SEV's, unfortunately.

She does make beautiful daylilies. I ordered one of her former introductions "Woman at the Well" for Spring.

I like the fact that not all her intros have extreme ruffled gold edges. I do like the gold edges but I think if a plant is an extraordinary performing plant and it doesn't have gold edges, its just as good as the ornate ones in my book.

I purchased her GNASHING OF TEETH from Michele this year and can't wait to see it in bloom!

I ordered her ev and simi evergreens a few weeks ago for spring, I think there were six or seven total. This is the most we have ordered from anyone, really cutting back this year.

Chuck! Karol's daylilies should do well for you, they like it here in my MN garden. There is one of her new ones I am debating about adding to her others that are in my garden.

thanks everyone for the welcome, I got serious about day lilies 2 yrs ago and started buying the older ones, then late last yr I found the LA that was the 1st mistake. then I started researching them and found Karol Emmerich's and others websites, mistake # 2 and it just keeps snowballing from there. In a little over a year we should have about 30 of Karol's planted and in the ground, my oldest live in St. Paul MN. about 45 min. from Springwood Gardens and that will probably be mistake # 3 at least by then.

For those of you who are just getting started with Karol Emmerich day lilies - a bit of advice! Leave plenty of room. As a group, they are very vigorous and multiply rapidly! Three years ago I decided to start a new bed exclusively for her day lilies (plus a few companion plants). I moved most of those I already had (maybe 20) to the new area. But... I did not leave enough space between plants, including about 30 more that I have since acquired. Right now I have NO ROOM for any more unless I enlarge the bed. And I had promised myself I absolutely would not do that. Right now it will be almost impossible to move between plants for deadheading without accidentally breaking off buds.

Notice all the buds... soon they will be opening... will be a gorgeous area, provided I can manage the deadheading!
