Wow!! I had no idea there were so any beautiful orange daylilies. I have an orange daylily that was a gift from my aunt. She lost the tag, but it's so breathtaking. I would love to know if anyone can ID it? I searched the plant database, but this thread has been so much more helpful. I know for certain the daylily is at least 5 years old. Bought in Washington state, at B&D lilies, when they used to sell daylilies. She bought it in person, so there isn't an internet trail to follow. Any help, would be greatly appreciated. Maybe a few names might ring a bell in my aunts memory.

Since they are still in business, I would email them the picture to see if they might remember or have a record of having sold one like it.

And you are right, it is breathtaking!

Need to post this orange from last summer. It was a bonus plant and I really love it, plus it reblooms here.

Anyone growing Backdraft? I have heard it was a really bright orange. I don't grow many but thinking I need to add a few. Halloween Trick looks nice in pics. Any feedback on those two.

Cindy, rebloom would be a bonus for you Hurray!

Yes definitely Teresa. I had more rebloom last summer than I have ever had in 20 years. Hope this summer is the same. Smiling

So heard back from B&D Lilies, this is their response.

B&D Lilies
"Oh gosh, the markings look familiar, however it has been over 8 years since we closed out the daylily field and filled it back up with lily bulbs. I have no idea and the records from that long ago have all been purged of old orders as well. NIce photo."

I guess I will never know. Shame. Crying
I'm guessing it could be Citrix?

Hemlady, that bonus is beautiful!!! I have so many seedlings from your seeds. Love them Smiling

Orange seedling that has tall scapes and beautiful flowers, bloomed this morning. Shimmer and scented. Carpenter bees love it. Drinking dew collected in the ruffles.

Oh, that is too bad that they purged their records. It sure is a nice looking daylily, but I dont' even have a guess as to the name.

Sounds like your latest seedling picture has it all! Tall, fragrant, ruffles, nice color, and a pretty gold shimmer Thumbs up I'd certainly hang on to that one Smiling

I'm a little "late to the party" with these pictures, but wanted to share them anyway. One cultivar and two seedlings:
Thumb of 2016-06-07/LarryW/d70205 The cultivar is Firelighter (Smith, F.) 2009

Thumb of 2016-06-07/LarryW/3a9877 I bought this seedling from Bill Waldrop. No parentage available.

Thumb of 2016-06-07/LarryW/16ddad This is a first year seedling bloom. Parentage is Ruckus X Waldrop seedling above
