Wishing Hubby a speedy recovery.

I went out today and harvested the last of the romaine lettuce. It is going to seed. Did some weeding and trimmed up the dead stuff from over the winter. Gorgeous weather. Will be working tomorrow on revamping my outside aviary so I can get some of these birds out of the house. I already moved a pair of sun conures and pair of indian ringnecks. Next will be the blue quakers followed by the linneolated parakeets and parrotlets and possible the pair of african greys if they decide to get along. They're both new and getting acquainted. So far, she is being a bully so they are in side by side cages. The small birds will be in stages as some are already sitting on eggs or have babies and will have to stay put for awhile.

Thanks Yall I am getting beyond the shock of this week. My husband is feeling better and I feel much better after going to church and realized how bless I am that all they did was take the wallet and my niece and I weren't harmed physically.

Just thought a show an updated photo of the parrotlet babies I posted last week. They have gotten most of their feathers now



Here is the youngest trying to sneak out of his brooder to join a baby parakeet waiting for breakfast. LOL

How cute! They sure do grow fast don't they? It's as if you could sit there for a couple hours & actually WATCH them grow.

They are adorable. How long have you been raising parakeets?

I started back in the 80's but took a break for while and just started raising them again in the last year. I missed it (not so much the 3am feedings though) as I love the color genetics aspect and breeding for new colors or combinations.

They are so sweet!! Other than a peacock I have never raised any birds, just about everything else. Did they hatch from your birds?

The parrotlets are from my birds. The keets came from a friend and I will be keeping them as breeders next year. I just had my first Linneolated parakeet hatch so I excited to see how it does.

Jeri, sorry you were having a slump and hope all is better now. Hoping all is much better for Sylvain and anyone else who's been having a tough time as well.
Without a doubt, Jeri, I have become little Jake's pet. My one regret is not exposing him to more people when he was younger for better socialization. He's glued to me all the time and takes forever to warm up to others.
I've been really busy going back and forth to visit the grandkids in Maryland. Got a break this month; they came down to Orlando for spring break.
When home, the weed pulling keeps me busy now. Need to get new weed cloth down, but can't seem to pay anyone to put it down for me. They're afraid of all the pricklies in my succulent gardens. Guess I"ll have to double up on ibuprophen for my back and just do it!

Things are much better here!!! Jim got a full release from his Dr. last Tue. and I must tell you that he is the evidence of answered prayers!!! Thanks to all for your thoughts and prayers!!! I pray that Sylvain is doing better also.

I was telling someone last night that is really bad when the animals run the zoo and I guess you know what that means!!! LOL!!!

I have been working in my beds and gotten all the front ones weeded and about 4 in the back but before I can get the weed retardant and mulch down they are back. AGH!!!!

I got up this morning and it's a COLD 39 degrees. We have our annual tea for our church today for all the ladies and their daughters and/or granddaughters at Forrest Grove plantation. I was planning of wearing a sleeveless dress. I guess I'll have to go find something else now.
