Hello, I just joined the AHS this morning. I was wondering if they send out a regional magazine too.

Also, to utilize the online website do I need a password for part of it? How do I obtain that?

What do you like best about the AHS? Or have you stopped being a member? LMK
Thanks,
Teresa

AHS magazine is great......I love the pictures. No regional magazine. I think they will send you a password, Here in Utah where many people think it is impossible to grow Hosta the magazine is the benefit. Worth the money. We can grow Hosta here.

Thanks, I am looking forward to receiving this and learning more about hosta.

Do you amend your soil? I have to because mine has so much clay. Angry

@Paul2032
I thought it was easy to grow hostas in the North? It's the south that does not get the required cold spell. Confused People in Canada grow them. LOL.

@bluegrassmom
I joined around this time last year and I have gotten no benefit from it at all. I got more support from PlantDelights.com as far as advice about hostas with a low chill requirement. 'Hostas for Warm Climates'.

I have read that certain people amend their soil with compost and I know that hostas love alfalfa.

Susan, did you like the reading material that is sent out? I have heard that is pretty good. I love nice photos, so I hope it has several.

Here is the thread from last year. The thread "Has anyone joined the AHS??" in Hostas forum

I do get most of my information on line. The Journal was nice with lots of beautiful pictures and gardens to inspire and enable us all. LOL.
