What a surprise! It never occurred to me that Persian Shield, Strobilanthes dyeriana had such a pretty and dainty little flower!

Jo Ann - hurray for you on your snowdrops. I only have the snowflakes - may get some snowdrops next year.

Here is a better photo of the Bilbergia - I got an iPhone from my kids for Christmas and the photo quality is so much better than my digital camera.

I was thinning out the patch of Bilbergia a few years ago (it may be the time I did the trade with you, Jmorth) and decided to stick some temporarily in a pot. Well, the pot plantings really took off and is better looking that the patch I left in the ground. It is in a large black pot, and with the warmer pot environment and getting a little more sun, it blooms 2 weeks earlier.

That Bilbergia is fascinating! Those bright bracts with green and blue/purple bloom is so unusual and gorgeous!

Only my spring bulbs have started here and not many of those yet. Just crocus. Daffs are late. Most years I Have daffs in full bloom by mid March. not this year.

This is my trellis garden. It has tulips in front and daffs in back. The daffs finially have buds.

It has been a cold and rainy day here. A good time to organize some of my photos and post what is blooming as we say good-bye to March.

Lovely little white iris there , I am guessing it would be a houseplant here, kinda like the walking iris?

Pelargonium crispum 'Prince Rupert' is in bloom. I just wish though that the new leaves will return to being variegated.

Just dreaming of flowers here. We seem to get a couple real nice days, then winter returns. Very dry, I think I need to water to get some growth going. Did plant a couple new sedums on Monday. Blue Pearl
