Hilarious! Hilarious! Neighborhood beautification project by planting cannas. I like cannas but have not had any in the past few years as they seem to take up so much room.

Fabulous job Allan! I especially like those last two shots with everything filled in looking like a jungle. The lushness of everything including the window box remind me of another member, Joanne @Joannabanana She wrote this recent article on how she creates her abundance of blooms. http://garden.org/ideas/view/J...

Anyway, thank you for sharing your Mom's roses, they seem to be thriving under your care! Thumbs up

No kidding. Allan, will you be my son too?
The amount of plants you packed in that area is incredible, and it looks like every plant in there is grown to perfection.
I kept looking at the dates because the growth was so fast and lush.
Thank you so much for taking all the photos and posting them here so we could see the progress.
Hurray! Thumbs up

Sue, thanks so much ! I just listened to you on the podcast !! I've been reading all the posts on roses this week and looking at your blog too. I bet I can find a few more spots to drop in a rose bush or two this Spring ! Did you notice the window boxes are gutters ? My goal there is the petunias grow over it and hide the gutters so the petunias appear to be growing out of the wall. In the winter the empty gutters kind of blend into the siding. Plus they were FREE !

Cindi , Thanks, glad you like the pics. Some in my family thought the bed was too dense, but neighbors walking by would come up the driveway, look around and ask questions. I think everything did so well was because of the 3 yards of soil I had shipped in, the 100 feet of soaker hose and Bayer 3 in 1. I try to take pictures once a week to post to my Flickr account so out of town relieves can see them. They also come in handy in the winter when trying to remember where everything will come up in the Spring !
