But Lynn the whole thing is at a slight angle, so your explanation makes perfect sense! It just was a great moment to go out and see all this rich soil - no wonder it was covered in weeds! The ones that when they dry and you go to touch them the seeds shoot out - Do you know the weed I mean??

Here you go Greg. Thank heavens they are shallow rooted and really aren't that big a problem, unlike some of the other weeds. Like the sticky ball one.

Wow, and here I am getting annoyed with clovers...that bursting one sounds super annoying.

You really can hear them pop and hit other plants around them. Very interesting.

I've been hit in the eye by those bittercress seeds! You can imagine how how they are to rid from the garden.

For some reason I love them! They are fun to try and pick without the seeds popping!! @OFM Portland has these guys too so you've probably seen them without realizing - they only "pop" if they are really ready to disperse the seed.

I can't find where we were chatting about 'Fine gold leaf' but when I made my comment about it - I was meaning this one - it looks almost like asparagus fern, and isn't frost hardy but comes back in the spring (I think this one is Lemon curl - and that it is a mexicanum but much larger than 'fine gold leaf')
to give you an idea of the size this is in a gallon pot!

Yes that one is different than the Fine Gold Leaf/S. hispanicum 'Aureum'.

While hunting for tiny trailing sedums (like S. "Little Missy") I came across this little precious, un-labeled sedum. Anybody know what it is?
