I don't cut bearded leaves, pull out those which look diseased. Siberian leaves are cut in Oct. as they can be a mess in the spring.

The one I paid way too much for when it was brand new, because it had the same name as my daughter who had been born shortly before I saw it in Schreiner's catalog.

Thanks everyone!!

Robin, the spot those Siberians are in is pure sand and it gets so hot and dry and it is right near the skimmer where my DH dumps stuff into and has killed things in the past. If you look at the expanded view you'll see one of the 3 plants all the way over to the right how it isn't as big as the other 2. That is the worst spot right there. I had them in a different spot and couldn't believe how aggressive they grew in my sandy soil and thought, hey I can make the side of my pool appear more like a natural wet area by putting them there. Non gardeners would never know they aren't ones meant for wet spots. Smiling Honestly I don't even know what they are for sure, a friend gave them to me. They look just like Siberians though.

I think some are Siberians, some are species iris, Meredith. Pixie, that JI came from Pirl.
