Brown Leghorns are nice. I used to have some rose combed brown leghorns. I haven't had any in a long time though.

The Light brahmas are starting to really develop wing feathers and one of my buffs has got tail pin feathers! One of the brahmas is always feeling his Wheaties and pecks at me when I stick my hand in the tote. Snot. The black giants are a bit nicer but no one is overly friendly right now. Hopefully they'll get more personable as they get older. I handle them every day. I'll be getting my white silkies on the 28th and then in April I'll be picking up white Orpingtons!! First time the store is carrying them which is awesome because I didn't want to have to order them.
Roses are one of my passions! Just opened, my Etsy shop (to fund my rose hobby)! http://www.etsy.com/shop/Tweet...

Paul, I have some Blue Laced Red Wyandottes. They are really pretty. Not the best layers, but make good mothers.

I have two of the lace wing Wyandottes and they seem to be pretty reliable layers. Strangely, they are also among the few who have figured out how to get out of the coop, even though they are heavier than some of my other hens (they fly-flop out then hop back in by way of a nearby wood stack). I call them the Pretty Girls, they really are striking, especially when the sun catches their feathers. Have fun with your chicks. I am almost a year into my hens and still have my original 10 hens plus 1 rooster (who is not long for this world, he has a nasty disposition). My best layers are the buff orpingtons (aka the Blonde Squad). My worse tempered in a little banty who is very quick to peck when I'm checking for eggs.
I want to live in a world where the chicken can cross the road without its motives being questioned.

Paul, the baby chicks are really cute. I like your collection as well. I collect the chicken candy dishes,

I have them in sizes up to a soup terrine size. A friend of mine made me a chicken Quilt, she backed it with fabric that lookes like chicken wire, it's really cute, I'll have to take a pic of it later.

Well I just spent 15 minutes trying to take a decent picture of the quilt, but I must be loosing my touch for sure, most of them turned out fuzzy, but I have a couple that at least you can see the pattern.

Here's a fuzzy picture of the wash stand. It's very old, and the mirror is not to clear anymore. Bought it two years ago.
