Welcome to the peonies forum MissMimie, your Bowl of Butter peony does really look like a bowl of butter😁. Does it have a scent?

Very pretty! Are you seeing growth on your peonies already this year? Still gardening vicariously from Colorado, probably at least another month before mine put up any pips at all......

That is a real beauty!
I am also gardening vicariously because we won't see any peony pips for another month or more.
Thanks for sharing your plant with us.

Annette, the pictures were taken a long time ago, and I just can't remember if it was scented or not, as I have several varieties of peonies. Sorry. I'm sure it can be easily referenced in the database in this site.

As with most of my photos posted, the peonies were planted around the (now deconstructed) mini-pond in my front yard.

I have a lot of peonies besides the Bowl of Butter, shown but they are all unnamed for several reasons: #1) I didn't mark them after planting, #2) I bought a few from lost-tag sales at local garden centers, to begin with, and #3) I moved the plant and didn't label the plant with the name upon moving it.

The only reason I know this is Bowl Of Butter is because I never moved it and it was one of the first ones that went into my yard and -as you know- you almost always remember the plants you first start with. ;)

I'm not seeing any peonies 'upping', yet. All I have peeping up is daffodils and crocus.

We don't even have any growth on early spring bulbs yet, a few more weeks.....
