Thanks Dann, but I have plenty of those. It is the multiplying ones in my photo that I lost a lot of, but even those I have enough.

I wanted to bump this thread back up because I need to thank Dan for the wonderful onions.
I just have mine in a container now but they produce well and I've shared with friends. All from a small bunch you gave me last fall.

Dan, how much water do you give yours?

Also, mine aren't doing as well now that they face east on my balcony. I LOVE these so much. They have such a great flavor.

Are they dying back right now Becky?
They dont like the heat and mine always die back this time of year and I stop watering them.
Once the heat passes and come September mine start pushing little green shoots.

Mine have died back. This morning I did notice one 3 inch tall green sprout on a cluster of about 10 bulbs. I think I have those onions called something to do with multiplying... sheesh, can't remember. Got them at a swap couple years ago.

My multipliers are beginning to poke green now too. Seems a little early to me - thought it should be more into mid Aug before they started growing again. Maybe because I never stop watering that bed because of other stuff in it?

I covered them with about 2" of compost about 2 weeks ago so dont know if its that or just the weather we have been having?

I'm going to try a hanging tomato planter this fall I think. And hoping my onions return. Should I lightly water them since they are just stagnant?

My onions are sprouted and multiplying like bunnies - lol. They never really died totally back I think because like Harold they get watered with other stuff in the bed. Boo, they do have the best flavor don't they?!?!

Mine are growing like crazy too, Kelly! I've used the sprout as "chives" at times. Haven't tried an onion yet. Do I just pull one off the "crowd" and let it dry a bit?

I've never used the onion part either Susie... I would assume you dry it like any other onion, but they are pretty small. Rolling on the floor laughing

Small! Yes! I've never had them flower, either Confused Kind of thought maybe they would at some point.

I probably will not have any because my balcony doesn't get enough sun! I am missing alot of my favorites. I actually cut even the tiny bulb up for my cooking, placing just the roots and a smidgeon back in the ground.

YAY Kelly and Susie!!! SUN ENVY!!! Hurray! Hurray! Hurray!
