Wow, that's a lot of seed! I don't fill my feeders every day but there's lots of natural food around to keep the birds healthy and happy so I just supplement with seed and suet every few days.

So did I, I went looking for the NCB news clip but couldn't find it. That was when I found the Utube clip. I think I was in Fl. the first time I saw Sandhill Cranes. They are so neat.

We have the Florida Sandhill Cranes here which are residents and remain year round but northern flocks winter here too. They are glorious birds! I sporadically see Sandhill Cranes here during the summer but my county gets it's way too cold during the winter months. About an hour south of here there are lots of Sandhills and I love taking pictures of them when we go to visit friends in that area. These photo's are from a few years ago, a close up of an adult and a trio of juveniles.

Hubby has been off work for spring break this week and we took a motorcycle ride up to St. Augustine for lunch this afternoon. I sure wish I'd taken my camera to get a few photo's of the Pelicans, Gulls, Heron's etc. I had it sitting out but walked right out and forgot it.

Wasn't it beautiful weather today? This is my favorite time in Florida. Just right for a long motorcycle ride. BYI the Sandhill Crane who was hanging out at the Wendys is no longer there. I looked for him when I drove by today.
LOL, I have a pic from a Fl. trip a few years ago of an egret standing outside a Wendy's drive thru window eating french fries that one of the employees was tossing him. Terrible for his diet but it was funny to see.

Hi Barbara, Yes, it was gorgeous weather today and looks like it's going to be the same through the weekend with temp's in the upper 70's and low 80's! I only took a lightweight denim jacket on our ride today and it was a bit chilly when we got out to A1A with the ocean breezes but luckily my hubby had a spare windbreaker stowed on the bike so we stopped so that I could put it on.
I guess the Sandhill must have gotten tired of Wendy's fries and moved to better feeding grounds which is good!

This Sharp-shinned hawk wasn't lucky on this day at catching it's dinner. Photos not as sharp as I would like, they were taken through the window and it was a dark cold windy day, which is why My Hawk is all fluffed up.
In the first image he was craning his neck to try and see a bird, he looked rather comical, then he decided to do a little preening.
