John of Fiesta Growers had French Tarragon at the St Phillips market Sunday. I don't have any way to get it to you but maybe someone can pick some up and take to the swap. Susie, it only starts from root cuttings. Does not grow from seed. The Mexican Tarragon is just not the same.

No wonder I didn't find any seeds at Summer Winds Nursery when I was there last weekend!

Dan, I forgot to bring your Fr. Tarragon! It's doing fine - so far. Looks and smells really good. Are you going to be in Phoenix or So. Scottsdale any time soon? I'd be happy to meet you and hand it off.

Dan, I'm swamped till later this week. How does lunch sound Thursday or Friday? There's a little 'hole-in-the-wall' Vietnamese restaurant at Hayden and Roosevelt. Would that be too far?

Give me a day or two to see how my schedule develops for the week. I may be headed for the Show Low area on Thursday.

Dan, how is your F.T. doing? Mine is just sitting there. All the herbs around it are growing like crazy but the tarragon isn't. If you're having success, please pass on what you're doing with it.

I planted it the day after I picked it up from you. It is also just sitting there. It still looks healthy and no signs of shock but it hasn't put on any new growth yet.

Deb got some thyme at the swap (maybe from Kelly?) and rooted it in a jar of water. I planted it at the same time as the tarragon and it is fairing the same as well.

I'm happy just because they're both still alive! That's more than I can say about a few other things in the garden right now.

I have marjoram, thyme, rosemary, Thai basil, oregano and the tarragon together. Everything but the F.T. is flourishing. However, they all did the same last year till shortly after the triple digits hit. Not long after, all I had left was rosemary, basil and crispy dried herbs. Yesterday, I potted up a variegated thyme, pineapple mint and apple mint and hung 'em in the house. We'll see how that works. Confused

All my herbs are doing well... Basils are still small but will grow better now that we're heating up. Dill gave up the ghost and took all my aphids with it!

Dan, the thyme did come from me and we were wondering if you could root it. Good to know. I'm trying to root some oregano for McP as we speak. That thyme I have planted is doing well. It likes poor soil and somewhat dry conditions. Grows like a monster.

Alma - I have pineapple mint in the ground. We'll see how it survives the summer. Right now it looks spectacular.

Do you have a photo of your pineapple mint, Kelly? Mine came from the nursery just with long legs. Nothing bushy about it and I wonder; is that the way it grows?

I'll get one tomorrow Alma. Mine is bushing out. When I planted it I cut it back a little and now it's getting bushier...

Beautiful, Kelly! I can see that I need to create an herb bed somewhere. Just where, I don't know. Hmmm.....
