Wow, lots of color this morning! That along with coffee, and I'm ready for the day! Look at the ruffles on Magnificent Masterpiece & Enamored! I just keep seeing my wish list growing. Now I better start on my "cull list".

Sharp Dressed Man is way cool, it's such a good grower too. Most impressive in a clump!

Cull list Tom? How do you ever choose. I have lovelies and homelies but they all are doing their very best, just like me.

Brett, all the iris in the compost area are NOID's. They make a really good show because they are so hardy. When someone comes along and says 'I like that one' I grab a spade and make room for the others to spread out. I have thought of digging them all and getting rid of that area entirely but they make a lovely show in the spring and they are right at the end of the driveway. It was just by happenstance that all the iris that took hold there were shades of purple. Here are a few close ups. Forgive the photography, not my forte.

a hint of plum in this purple

This is a very old iris and deserves a space for just enduring

This has lines all over it but as it ages the standards flare out and that is not lovely.
Thumb of 2014-03-20/grannysgarden/70421f

This one looks white in the picture with a little green on the center of the falls but it has a lot of lavender in the edges of the standards and falls.
Thumb of 2014-03-20/grannysgarden/f3d234

This is reflecting some sky that give the rosy glow. actually a lovely purple iris.

Sometimes a nicer version of a color comes along, and it gets replaced, others just need to go to make spaces for some I like better, but it's harder and harder to cull. I found a few more purple ones in some older files, thought I'd share them

Patty Great pictures my favorite of those is Wise

Debra Thank You not sure how many bulbs of it they had planted there but it looked to be a lot and it was impressive up close !!!

Paul I like the color of your seedling those beards are awesome on it and that is the best picture of Adoree I have seen really like that one and wish mine did better here at home it grew and increased well but never flowered right. I had 20 some bulbs of it going into winter and not a 1 of them made it this year very disapointing will have to enjoy your pictures of that one and maybe some of it's kids will do better here.

Tom congrats that is a welcome sight it won't be long before we will see those in Wisconsin Smiling I found some tulips peaking out of the ground today, I have know idea how maybe there confused because the ground re freezes every night and it's still a sloppy mess because the frost is still coming out of the ground but what a welcome sign something actually growing Thumbs up I also stopped down at the green house today to check on my seedlings they are coming on strong nodding I have a lot of empty spaces in the garden right now but not for long.

No sign of tulips or daffs here yet. In the 50's today, maybe they will start to pop soon. A couple of the mini's look like they are poking their heads out a bit though, maybe it's just wishful thinking.
