OK, my database is still open and I went back a few pages and found what I was looking at earlier. Could it possibly be graptopetalum superbum, Graptopetalum (Graptopetalum superbum) ?
I kept looking at photos of echeveria and nothing matched. I was looking up another graptopetalum and graptoveria and came across that plant. What are your thoughts?

I don't know it could be. Some of the pictures look similar but with succulents there are so many that look alike.

I have seen Graptopetalum Debbie and thought it looked more like that one because of the pink edge when it is in a lot of sun.

Oh my goodness ... I WANT that Conservatory!!! It is really beautiful and I know it will be a showplace once you have it built and your plants inside.

I like the looks of that succulent; my first thought was Echeveria but it also looks like Graptopetalum. I wonder if you post the photo over on the Plant ID forum if someone would recognize it?

Pardon me, I guess I should have said Conservatory. Yes, it would be that. It wouldn't work for me here but it is beautiful indeed. You could almost get lost in it. nodding

Thanks for the responses to my questions! And I love it when breaking a rule works out so well! Very encouraging, just try it, right? Maybe that would finally cure my overwatering problem - some pots w/o holes that I hardly ever water. It's working so well for you, worth considering. It should go well, with you being so close... 'cuz I'm moving into your conservatory/solarium, or whatever we decide to call it!

Tee,

I've always thought of a conservatory, solarium, greenhouse, sunroom as all the same thing except most greenhouses doesn't usually have a place for furniture. I want one like Cinta is planning.

My youngest sister lived in north Georgia for many years where they built a house with a beautiful "Sunroom" (as she called it.) She wasn't really into houseplants and only had a couple but she always told me that she knew that if I had a room like that, it would be full of plants. We do have a screened porch here with ceiling fans but her sunroom was so nice; french doors led from the family room as well as the breakfast room into the sunroom. I could only find a photo showing part of the room ...

You guys are singing my song. Ric and I have long planned to have a conservatory attached to the back of the house. It would be a pretty big job and at this point I am not sure we will ever do it. We are build it yourself types and the digging and block work for the foundation might be getting beyond us. We even have the materials (very very large warehouse windows) stored in our barn. But we realize that those type of windows would probably cost so much to heat that we could pay for more efficient materials from the energy savings. Who knows we may get it put in one of these days. There are many GH companies out there to peruse and dream. We did put in a stand alone working GH several years ago and we just love it. Of course no matter the size GH's are never big enough. Ours is a 10 X 12 Harbor Freight with some modifications to make it sturdier and more efficient. A real pleasure in the winter.
Songs of Joy Love the vintage head planters.
Cinta, My guess on that succlent is that it is an Echeveria the name escapes me right now. I think I have the same or simular one in this planter.

That is gorgeous Lin. I have a room like that off the kitchen but it is small 12 x 12 and because my kitchen is small I use it as a dining area. I call it my morning room because it is where I go every morning with my cup of tea. Big Grin

I like the idea of having a room with all my plants and a place to sit because we have such harsh winters. When they came out and measured and gave me a price for the room I was shocked at how reasonable it was. compared to the prices I had gotten to build the greenhouse.

It comes mostly pre-assembled and because they do not have to do a foundation because it is over the garage it really cut the price. The heating is was going to be easy because it is on that side and there was already a door that leads to the roof of the garage. I think the previous owners had planned to do a deck over the garage so they put a door leading from that bedroom to the garage. There are so many things that are in place that is making this option so cheap.

This is a pic before I dropped the trees on that side. Over to the left over the garage is where it is going.

Lin, your sister's sunroom is lovely and so inviting. That is what I want, but getting it is going to involve tearing up a lot of concrete. DH is not in favor of doing that. But, he's going to have to do something soon, because I am not getting rid of my plants. Whistling

WOW I missed this. You have some really nice ones. Have you checked the value? Some of them are worth a lot of money. Mine do not have much value but I did line them with plastic and because I just use them as decor for wintering my plant I use very little water. I do not put them outside in the summer.

Thank you. That's okay, Cinta. I find it difficult to keep up with all the threads so I know the feeling. I frequently lose track of things. Big Grin

Some of them do have a bit of value. Unfortunately, they were very popular and sought after about 10 years ago, but now the value has declined quite a bit. I bought them because I like them. I've found that's the only way to go with collectibles.

That's cute! And perfect for a 'Strawberry Begonia!' I wish I had something to hang mine in (better yet, somewhere where I could hang it). I've broken off a few babies already. Crying

Sadly, all but one were too tiny to pot up. I'm currently trying to root one. I don't know if it's going to prove too small as well, but it is bigger than the others. I figured it's worth a shot! I'll let you know once I discover if it has rooted successfully or not. It's only been about a week on this one.
