I grow iris and squeeze as many as I can into a limited space. I enjoy their individual beauty. That is my style. Brad has designed an exquisitely beautiful garden containing gorgeous well grown clumps of iris as a major element of the design which I can only aspire to. I can easily see many hours of designing, hard work and passion. Maybe we need a green with envy icon, at least for me, but this will have to do Green Grin!

It sure is amazing isn't it? Such a nice mixture of colors and textures including some really interesting trees and other flowers as well. I was lucky enough to go see it last summer. I just wondered around with my mouth hanging open in amazement.

That's it, I am scrapping my garden and starting over!
It says he will be visiting Napa Iris this spring, that's an hour drive away from me, I should arrange to meet him there!

Evan Thanks !! I thought Renee did a awesome job with the article she is a very talented writer and we are very appreciative of her taking the time to write that and share our garden with other Iris Lover's.

Paul Thank You for the kind words !! and help and advice with the seedlings, was looking forward to sharing some pictures with you this spring of them blooming but unfortunately mother nature was way cruel to us this winter we set a 140 year old record for the coldest January and it was the 8th coldest winter recorded in Iowa and a good majority of the seedlings did not make it still to early to tell still hoping I can save some of them but I have been battling a horrible case of rot in everything right now. I think we just had the perfect storm of record low temps and wet damp soil. I am looking forward to your pictures of the SDB's and hoping for some of your warm dry weather here. This will be a traveling year as I think my bloom this year may be sparse. Shrug!

Sue that's sounds great I will be in touch as we get closer Smiling I think and hope that the trip will be coming up pretty fast it sounds like the drought out there has everything way ahead of schedule and I am ready it this year nodding . From what I understand Napas peak bloom is a week or so later than the other gardens so I may make it there a little on the early side for there bloom time but either way we are definitely going. It is such a beautiful trip through out that whole area really enjoyed visiting with the Painter's and looking at there gardens the last time.

We did get a bit more rain than southern Calif. but certainly nothing like our normal rainy winter.
Let me know when you plan to be there and I'll see if I can make it. Thumbs up I live in the next valley over, Sonoma. Both Napa and Sonoma are beautiful!
