Hi good people of the Dahlia forum, I will be doing the draw in the next couple of days as I am back in the USA, and will box up the tubers and notify everybody. I will do out slips of paper and put all the names up so you can make sure your name is here before the draw.

Here are some of the new additions for my garden in Sanabria for 2014, and being prepped for the Garden Society draw and Alzheimers Society. They are , in order, Bishop of Llandaff, Bishop of Oxford, Gallery Art Deco and Art Nouveau ( combined in the photograph), Bishop of Canterbury, David Howard, and Glory of Heemstede. I planted up about sixty then ran out of pots and time.

I wish everybody good luck, and I intend to do the draw tomorrow and ship the tubers out tomorrow as well. Three have sprouted about an inch, but I have wrapped them carefully with bubble wrap and those polystyrene peanuts so if you unpack them carefully you should be fine. All four have sent out roots so they look good to go. Swan Island tubers look great, I have to say.

Peter, you are very sweet and generous but you do not have to give me anything. I love your dahlias but I have way too many coming and still trying to figure out where to put them all. LOL. I am hoping to share a few blooms with you and all the other Dahlia people here on our new Forum!

I will transfer acorns to everybody else today or tomorrow. May I say that this has been fun, and I am sorry that there are not tubers for everybody this time.

I would also like to thank Calif_Sue and pirl who were kind enough to send me acorns. While I had enough acorns to look after everybody on the thread, I actually would have been embarrassed at forgetting the good folk that sent me treemails for the draw.

The calamity then would have been that not only would these folk not have been in the draw, but I would not have had enough acorns. Duane saved me that embarrassment and I appreciate the reminder.

I hope to get better at this as we go along.
