Spring in DeLand is looking good. Most of my plants are just starting to fill in. Except for the Lantana which is already putting on a spectacular show.

Those dang squirrels ate all 3 of my lovely sunflowers. I need to rig a wire cage to go around the flower heads.

I'm of the other mind set, Jean. I let the sunflowers grow for the squirrels so they will leave the bird feeders alone.

Wish we had hopes of some rain here! I think it's all going to pass north of us. My plants are starting to show signs of chlorosis from my high pH well water. C'mon rain!!

Agapanthus in the pool cage, nearly all open now. I do enjoy them, but sure wish they would bloom for a longer time. Well . . . it's a nice foliage plant anyway. Gotta look at the flowers as a bonus.

David - your yard is looking like I remember it - the lovely jungle beds.

I'm heading out to water the tomatoes. It was dark, windy, & noisy yesterday & we got 15 drops. Looks like today may be the day we get some.

Me Too ! Got a light sprinkle overnight, but I doubt enough to even wash the dust off the plants.

Same here - we had a big, thundery storm pass by to the East of us, it hung on nearly all evening, moving north into Manatee and Hillsborough with "severe thunderstorm" warnings but we got not a single drop! Let's hold out hope that the summer pattern re-establishes itself today and the storms move from inland towards the coast like they're supposed to!

Couple of night shots of my big Brug with its flowers open. It's scent attracted the resident raccoon last night - Twice! I chased him out of the pool cage in my jammies. GRRRR Grumbling

We have a cat door through the screening, Hetty. I can lock it, but then the cat wakes me up wanting to get out . . She also has a door into the house that is operated by her microchip, so the raccoon can't get into the house, but the cat puts up a fuss when raccoons get into the cage. He's really only after the water in the pool, since it's been so dry but there is lots of other water around our yard including the water garden that would be easier for him to get to.

David,
I could hear it in town, but 7 miles or so up the road from you.....nothin but a threat and a sprinkle.

What's the tall plant with the red tinged leaves in the 2nd photo ? Canna ??

Rain all around us also & all we get are 15 drops. crazy weather pattern for sure. It was rather cool today. had I known that, I would have planned on some yard work. I still have some plants that need re-potted. Maybe tomorrow will be just as cloudy & cool.

Have a guy coming tmrw to give me an estimate on my shade/GH. Hopefully it will be in my budget. Really want this built before to much longer.
