Thread OP

Hi-

I have germinated some seed using the papertowel method and am ready to remove them from the wet towel. How do I plant the germinated seed into the soil? Do I place it with the sprout sticking up or down?

Thanks, JC

Interested in the answer myself. Haven't used the paper towel method myself for propagation. But when my uncut spaghetti squash had sprouts I decided to plant, I had the same question. Which end? I ended up planting all the sprouts sideways. Although the sprouts did grow for me, I suspect this is probably wrong, so I look forward to being corrected and taught a thing or two.

Place it with the little rootlet facing down. It really won't matter all that much, it should come up either way, if it is not planted too deeply.
