can you show us a picture of the foliage? I have blooms that look like that, but the foliage is plain. I was sold this heuchera under a name that was not true. Wondering if this is what I have.

Kenboy, here is some information on which ones do best in the south. This place has a great selection! http://www.ilovehostas.net/whh...

I just posted a bunch of mine in the database in a different cubit. Here is the info and pictures if you're interested. All but the first 3 posted are mine. http://cubits.org/ellasgarden/...

Can you tell I love heucheras? And I'm still adding to my collection.

very nice collection. I have some of the same ones that you have posted. Question - your Peppermint Spice - what color flowers does this have? I bought a NOID from Lowes that looks very similar to this one.

Also, where did you find French Quarter? I have been looking for that one as well.

Hi Carolyn,

My Peppermint Spice has pink flowers. It really looks alot like Green Spice.

I got French Quarter 3 years ago from Eminence Meadows: http://www.eminencemeadows.com... I see he is out of stock until late June though. He ships very small plants (at least he did 3 yrs ago) and I really had to baby it the first 2 years. This year it's finally looking like it can hold its own.

The leaf on firefly is rather plain, it was probably chosen for the color of the flower.

I think you're right. But it has beautiful red flowers! Not too many heucheras have red ones.

here is mine. She was sold to me as 'Hollywood'. You cannot tell, but there is a faint overlay of silver on her leaves. I am wondering if she is really 'Firefly'. Her beautiful flowers seem to hang on forever too!

I bet you're right - it is Firefly. Hollywood's leaves are purple. Firefly was my very first heuchera - long before they were popular.

Kenboy, sorry I didn't reply I haven't been on the computer much I have been in a losing battle with weeds UGH! I bought my first heucheras in 2007 and they are planted in shade. I have 5 in the back and 5 in the front all different cultivars. I haven't noticed any problems with them at all I just water them but I do have rabbits and dump the rabbit litter in the flower beds from time to time. My soil is hard black and clumpy and is very hard to till, one of those mantis tillers won't work on it. sigh. I think you'll be happy with heucheras. I have noticed though that they aren't at a lot of the most popular nurseries. If you find them they will only have 'coral bells' on the tag lol that sorta like 'assorted hosta' LOL. I have found that if I want to be sure to get what I want I need to order from a reputable company. I ordered my originals from Jung but prefer Bluestone. Good luck with whatever you get heucheras are so beautiful!

Everyone, your photos are wonderful. I've not had camera time in the garden this year, so can't post any.

Carolyn, sorry I missed you at the swap yesterday. I was glad to read that you made it.

Bev -

Very nice Berry Smoothie. I do no thave that one yet.

Stormyla - We had a wonderful time at the swap. I was hoping you were going to be there and was disappointed you did not come. Perhaps the next one. DH is already full of ideas on how I can devote a garden bed soley to trades and swaps.

My memory chip has a bad file on my camera - I have not been able to take any new pictures. Need to get a new chip. So, in the meantime, I will have to live vicariously through everyone elses photos.

Thanks Carolyn. That was one of the plugs that I got from Ella in a previous co-op. Who knew that tiny plug would be so vigorous and take off like it has. Very cool!

Yes. It may have been the first one she did last year. I kept all the plants potted for through the hot months then put them out toward the end of summer. Most of them did wonderfully. I lost Fire Chief, but it was in a spot with a bit more competition for space. I will probably try it again sometime.
I just got some from her again. I'll be potting them up as soon as the rain stops. Which plugs did you get?

I have Fire Chief coming, but have not received it yet. I am anxious to see the color in person on this one.

Mary - I did not know I was featured. I spent all day in the garden yesterday. I have to be honest, most of the credit for the success of this cubit goes to Chris.....
