I put the date on all my pictures as I save them, but I never think of showing the date when I post them. Good idea!

I'm not familiar with Solar Eclipse. That's really a nice one!! Do the leaves turn all green later in the summer?

Yes it was new this spring from Terra Nova. I think that it is supposed to get darker as the season progresses with just an edging of green remaining, If it changes much i will post another picture.

I love Heucherellas in general. They are really very hardy. I don't like the blooms as much as heuch blooms, but the foliages are really beautiful. Smiling

The same goes for the Tiarellas. i don't care for their blooms at all, but love the leaves and the plant forms.

Do you have Tiarella Sugar & Spice? That one seems to flower quite well.It has also been the best growing one for me.

No, I don't Bob. I know that it is a very popular one, especially because of it's flowers. I have about a dozen different Tiarellas, all with striking foliage colors or markings. Like everything else that I plant, I have at least 4 to 8 of each variety except for that finicky Tiarella Heronswood Mist who keeps dying one by one. It's such a shame, it's one of my favorites. I also only have two tiarella Running Tapestry who continue to run everywhere. Hilarious!

That is about the same amount of different ones I have. I also had no luck with Heronswood Mist, I would get 2 years and they would fade away. The same thing with Mystic Mist . Too bad they are such good looking plants. The only one I have a lot of is Jeepers Creepers. I also have quite a few mixes , they seem to seed easily.

Bob, I barely got one year out of Mystic Mist, but maybe I'm confusing it with Begonia Mystic Mist, another TN loser.. To be fair to them the year that I acquired them was one of those springs with endless rain and they did suffer some rot. Then I bought another round of Heronswood Mists and they have been slowly failing one at a time.

I have Ginger Peach in the shade (only about 2-3 hours of early morning sunshine) -- not doing well. Who's got Ginger Peach and do you have it in the sun? How much? And time of day...

Thanks!!! I'm all ears! I'm all ears!

(Ginger Peach 6/28) I have mine in a place where it gets about 6 hours of late afternoon sun. It is growing ok but I was thinking of moving it into my sun garden to see if I could get any color out of it. It is part of the Marmalade Series which I find to be weak to begin with. Last year when I tried to order one their were crop failures on It. This one was planted about 6 weeks ago.

I think the Marmalades are weak too. I love Crowfeather. It does very well for me.

They seem to have much smaller root systems then other heuchera, and don't do well in wet conditions.

I agree. I have one Marmalade that was finally starting to look pretty good and then a pile of burning debris clobbered it. Sashay that was right beside it and Crowfeather right in front actually survived all that, but I think that particular Marmalade is now a goner.

I was thinking I had T. Sugar and Spice, but now I am thinking that I am confusing that with Spring Symphony - Not sure on that..... I love the Tiarellas and I especially love the bottle brush blooms. They generally start early enough so that really very little else is flowering at that time. I also love the way the foliage changes color in the fall.

I have tried my second T. Mystic Mist. I really liked the way the mottled leaves looked, but I am watching my second one slowly fade into Tiarella heaven - just like the first. Too bad - Neat looking leaves. I won't be trying that one again.

I have heard very mixed reviews about Sashay and my Sashay did very little in the way of increasing in size during a 3 year period. I gave mine to a trading buddy of mine in Virginia and she sent me photos only weeks later showing me that she was able to get it to grow for her. Apparently it either liked the zone or her better than me! Sad

Bob - you have such beautiful plants - would you please enter them into the database?

Carolyn
