It makes me very happy to learn her true identity. I hate it that so many have lost theirs!!

Congratulations Arlyn! Lucy, you "done" good! I tip my hat to you.

Mary Ann, the iris doesn't loose it's identity, we loose it's identity. Hilarious!

Brett- great pictures! I've considered Wyomissing in the past... It's still on my very loooong wish list...
I hope you'll post more as they come into bloom.
Arlyn- So glad you got a name for your lovely white through Lucy's generosity.. Plant people are the best, don't you think?

Arlyn- I'd take some if you had enough to spare (I guess tons *might* be enough?)

I'm going to have to figure out what I'm going to divide this year... I want to move some Iris around now that I've seen them bloom, but right now my main priority is keeping the garden alive through summer. We've got a well that is showing fatigue from several years of drought, and a secondary source that is slowing down as well. Several areas of lawn are going to be sacrificed, if not all. Third day in a row w/ temperatures hovering around 100. Gardening is not for the faint of heart...

No historics at my house but this is at the next door neighbors. It grows on the north side of their house and only gets a little morning and evening sun but it blooms every year.

This old iris will sit for 20 years unattended, unwatered and never divided and still come back and bloom every year without fail.

Here is another one that takes care of itself. It asks for nothing and gives its all every year.

White SDB 'Baby Snowflake' has been very reliable. It reblooms further south, not here. but it is fun in the spring.

Debra- I find Mme. Chereau charming, but there was something I found so striking and elegant in the form of Confetti.. True Delight is another that just wows me- not so much in individual flowers, but in form and landscape value.

Bonnie, your pink and yellow look like one that was on the property when I moved here. Mine is also tough as nails.

Lucy, I was looking at the lawn thinking how I could carve out islands for Iris and their companions.. If we end up not having enough water for the lawn, it will be an opportunity to re-do all the sprinkler lines. (Trying to see the silver lining)
