It's pretty world here this week. More gardening and photography today. Boojum the dog is sick so we cancelled our trip to Patti in Nantucket. VERY disappointed. Hope my pooch is okay (tests at the vet right now).

I hope Boojum is alright!

The Azalea in our front border is in full bloom and so are the Bearded Iris germanica.

The Iris are really BLUE, I think it is too bright during the day to capture the true color.

Wow! The azalea is so intense!!! Love the germanicas! I really like historic beardeds best. The rest are so trying, never bloom when I want, move away from markers, rot easily, make me crazy. Only SDBs, historics, and beardless work for control freak me!

I tried to take some pics of the Bog today.
The Pitcher plants looked terrible after the Winter, but I see new growth.
The arrows 1 and 2 point to the emerging Cyp reginae and 3 to a Jack in the Pulpit. I actually think I see in the same region as the Cyps also some small Spiranthes which I had never planted and came up on their own last year too.

My spiranthes are up but much smaller. How long have they been there?

Kathy, regarding the Cyps - you always do well with yours, reliably year after year.
I was holding my breath to see if they would come back. Hurray!

Klaus loves Forget me Nots so I planted last year some on the side of the bog/actually NEXT to the bog. They look like they are taking over, but the bog is still clear of them, almost. They really spread and he enjoys them very much. ( me too)

Kathy, about the Spiranthes - they were never totally "not-there", I always saw tiny plants around the old dried spikes on snow free days in Winter and they really started to pop up after the snow melted last month.
