I simply love the scent of Sweet Woodruff. It was a popular Lemonade flavor in the region we grew up.

We have Sweet Woodruff in bloom at Maypop. We use it to make May wine...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/May_wine I'd heard about it from my grandparents who were not able to enjoy it in this country because it doesn't grow in S. FL. A little May wine, a few smoked eels.

Well, smoked eels and the spirit that's like grappa is more traditional. I love the idea of SW in lemonade. I'm going to try it in sun tea.

Carolina jessamine (not jasmine!)

Does rhe Jessamine smell as heavenly as Jasmine? It's lovely. New things are starting to show everyday here now. First 2 Standard Dwarf Bearded Iris opened this morning. This is Ruby Wings, a favorite.

No irises but the primroses are starting. Sat is COLD and rainy! Into the low 40s and down to 32!
I just bought a double white wood anemone at a local wildflower seller's stand in our tiny town.

The Erythronium japonicum is a lovely color. My yellow pogoda ones are fading away already. Sure happy I started adding SDB Iris to the edges of my beds a few years ago. They fill in this time before the tall bearded Iris and the columbines start to bloom. I have many that need to be divided if anyone wants some, just Cmail me. This is Ruby Eruptions.

Most of the other color right now is from the Spring bulbs. Hyacinths, tulips and daffs in front.
