MMMMmmmmmm. Yes indeed. I tried to pull out the LoV but they are back. Now that variegated one is gorgeous.

Yes, I suppose LoV are kinda weedy. I do hope this fancy one multiplies nicely, I will certainly make room for it.

Don't hold me to this, but I think it may be Magnolia virginiana (Sweetbay). It's very common here and grows wild. We have a few in the woods behind our yard.
