I finally caught the neighborhood bees sleeping in my Black Adder agastache. I counted 11 of them that I could see - they curl up way at the very bottom underside of the flower stalks. Only a few photos turned out - in the last shot there are actually two bees, one on the far side of the flower. The one of the bottom looks like it may fall off!

hi, Dirtdorphins. This was Pycnanthemum muticum, but there are other Pycnanthemum varieties. They are natives that grow pretty well in the Midatlantic, and the pollinators adore them! Smiling They're in the mint family, probably most closely related to Monarda.
