My open house is mid June. I've invited the garden society on the 18th and probably all my friends and neighbors the week before and some relatives and old friends too. And the landscaping kids will come midweek from the tech school. June is always crazy.

June here is too hot. We're basically closed.

I went outside this morning and there looking at me was the first daylily of the year.

Today.
My son and I were burning brush today even though the wind was strong. All of a sudden a huge branch cracked off our 40' willow tree. Freaky! Had to call the tree guy.

Yep spring is here alright... those are beautiful Kathy... it's a shame that you're loosing a big branch of the willow tree... is willow good enough for mounting orchids? always try to find the positive side you know:) I save branches falling off from my oak and cherry trees to mount some of my orchids, so far they doing great...

Beautiful spring flowers everyone!

Janice, you are brilliant! The voles have been dining on my tulips non-stop, I wouldn't have thought to mix them in with the daffs! Great idea! Hurray!

The tulips were called Rembrandts, white petals flamed with reds, yellows and blues and I've been wanting them for years and what was 10 is now 2 Crying

Same here. Unless they are close to the house. The voles don't seem to go there.

Jim, what fabulous things are blooming there! Yummy!

Carol, that is one photogenic Epi!! Love it.

Beautiful, Kathy! Love those Hellebores and are those ferns unfurling? Amazing.

There is the slight scent of dead mouse out back today, so we are hoping that means a minor victory in the Vole War.
We will check the bait stations and refill. It is a very good system, totally covered, to keep the bait dry.
Good thing, as we have had a good deal of rain.
Steven, this system might work for you, too. http://www.volecontrol.com

Maybe a new thread, Kathy? This one is a bit long.

I wish I could put an alarm on the threads, so easy to forget to check how long they are. I prefer to start with a pic, but my only pic today of the garden would be snow!!! Maybe tomorrow.....
