This morning it was feast instead of famine. Being cloudy I was able to catch the bluish tinge of Jaime Lynn that's so hard to capture.

My camera was behaving this morning and was able to capture true colors. The first picture is of a volunteer from last year. It's growing where my Blue Silk was growing. It really is this lovely navy blue color. Not sure of the parentage, though it looks like it has some Silk in it.

And here is the Purple Silk with the proper colors.

Beautiful! Purple Silk is striking.
I found Jamie Lynn this morning, too. She was smothering Salvia gravida with her long green arms and I had to unwind her a bit in the interest of preservation. She's too pretty to eliminate altogether.

MG's are certainly thugs. I spend a part of every day redirecting vines to keep them from 'hugging' other plants to death.

I'm waiting for a few more blooms ... so far the color is staying true. Next one I'll sequester it and hand pollinate and see if it breeds true.

Thanks ... it's very much like the blue of the Double Blue Picotee and I had some of that growing near by.

Another one bloomed today .. same color. I hand pollinated and covered it.

Wow Alana, does that first one stay that color or does it morph into more even tones as the morning wears on?
