I believe these separate database entries are duplicates. Cycas revoluta has common names of Sago Palm, Japanese Sago Palm, King Sago Palm but I don't think there's a cultivar named 'King Palm'. The genus Archontophoenix has a common name of King Palm.

Sago Palm (Cycas revoluta)

Thanks for the report Lin. I find no support for a cultivar named 'King Palm' either and I've confirmed your suspicions with a long time collector of Cycads from your state.

*Blush* I just found it while browsing the database and was pretty sure they were the same plant.

@eclayne @Calif_Sue

I came across this 2014 thread today when reading about Sago Palm (Cycas revoluta)

I noticed that we still have the database entry for a cultivar named Did anyone ever find out if there truly is a cultivar by that name or should the entry be combined with the species: Sago Palm (Cycas revoluta)

I've googled and googled and can't find anything referring to a cultivar named 'King Palm' and I still think it's one and the same plant ... just another instance of "common" name being confused with an actual Cultivar name.

Thanks for finding this Lin. I've merged the entries and added 'King Palm' as an also sold as name to C. revoluta.
