Those are beautiful Oriental lilies, Wes. Good price, too! I picked up several containers last year (all different lilies) for the same price. You can always find a place for them in the garden afterwards.
Remember how I was asking what lilies everyone has that bloom with Stargazers. Call me a plant geek but I did a little of my own research to try and figure out what would bloom at the right time. I used a wholesalers website that listed each varieties growing period and compared them to ones I have. On this chart Siberia looked like it would bloom a week later than Stargazers which is closer to when my Expression blooms. A lot of the varieties that looked good I couldn't find available using google. I ended up ordering Simplon Lilies from Breck's. I know I'm taking a chance with Breck's but I have had good luck with bulbs from other places like them. I just wouldn't count on perennials from those types of places. Anyway here is the link to my chart I made! The other ones I have highlighted had potential to bloom too early but I may still try them. I think I will have more options in spring since lilies seem to have much more limited availability in fall. https://docs.google.com/spread...

Yes, we vary from about 2 weeks to a month. My dahlias were early this year but I probably jumped the gun posting before they were fully open. I start them indoors and they went out the third week of May.
I think the amount of 'sun hours' play a big part in the success of growing anything that latitude north. Things really grow when you get 20hrs of sunlight per day!
I think Muscadet is one lily that is always much prettier in the garden than those pictures in the books!
I got my Simplon Lilies from Breck's on Fri. The order was for 25, but I only ended up with 21, 4 were mushy. I have never had bulbs sent tome in sealed plastic bags before, that's what they were in. With some dampish peat. I don't feel like dealing with complaining and at least I got 21. I planted them yesterday, now hopefully I'll get what I paid for when they bloom, not something else. That is my big pet peeve with vendors. I want the plant I chose no what they feel like sending.
Good luck Meredith. Hopefully you got what you wanted. I usually prefer to deal with specifically lily vendors. They are almost always the right bulb. Let us know how it turns out.
Not only are they most often the right bulb, but also they tend to have better customer service and replacement policies, based on their error, should a mistake occur. I find it always more worth my time to deal with folks who take lilies seriously
I hope it all works out Meredith. Let us know come bloom time next year.
I think spring will bring a larger selection from better vendors. I will be keeping an eye out to see what's available. I will share the results as well. :smily:

Most of you would give your 'eye teeth' for the sights of liliums I have here now! ,, 2 weeks and 1st blooms will be here.. looking foreward to displaying 'YOUR' seedlings during 'YOUR' winter

Two weeks away? Wow! I've barely sighted a packed bud yet - except for some overly enthusiastic noid LA that came through the ground buds first... no protective leaves over the nose! - let alone any cleared ones. Feels like bloom season will be much later than usual. I wonder if the change of garden is behind that?
