@springcolor
Good for you!!
I think that may be why a lot of people don't post their pics here, they don't know the names, but I am glad to see you are willing to post pictures anyhow. I only have a few hostas, I don't know how on earth people manage to keep names on hundreds of them.

@ViolaAnn You are an inspiration with all the info you give. I have learned so much about slug control, what hostas are reliable and of course whats new.
The naming thing is just hard to keep up with but we all do the best we can on that front. Looks like a good day for pictures, I have a few more areas with hosta that I will get pictures of. They are spectacular right know here in Washington.

Very pretty hostas everyone!
I have about 20 more I need to plant this week and getting a few more from profesora. Also, these Coral bells are wonderful addition. I got 8 plugs in the fall and they grew into a gallon size pots over the winter and are busting at the seams. I did not know they were evergreen.

@springcolor Have you tried freezing your seeds? I heard they will not sprout if you do that, I think I will try it not that I have a little room in freezer, time to defrost. LOL.

@Rose1656 There is not pic of Temptation in database, I saw pic of Winter Lightening besides yours and it looks like it has HVX , one of those 'use-by-permission photos. CROSSVIEW GARDENS, they are not reputable dealers and do not test for HVX. I read their introduction page and they seem more worried about finding good pictures to post. It is a part time business for them. (no thanks!)

Satisfaction gets about 4 hours of morning sun and that is the secret for his success. Even in the middle of summer he does not complain about the heat nor does it burn. Good sun tolerance, heat tolerance and slug resistance. Love this hosta!

I really like that Pink Flamingo and Pride and Joy, I love the colors on those and also the others especially Temptation.

Julia,

Your brunnera look very happy! You have some beautiful shade gardens.

Susan,

My Satisfaction is in shade all day. Now I'm thinking it may be on my "move list". I received my hosta from Professora yesterday, and they are all potted up until I figure out where they will be happy.

Is this thread for shots of beds only, or can we post individual plant pics here?

I think the purpose of this thread was mainly to post garden pictures, even if you do not know the names. So names are not necessary.
If you have a lot of pics you can start your own thread like Paul and Ann do sometimes and just call it 'Hostas from Rose's Garden' or something. I see there was a generic thread for peeps but not for mature hostas?
Ann use to start threads on DG and start off with 'A' and work down the alphabet by the end of the season there was every hosta you could think of an a good source for newbies, because you are introducing hostas, with pictures and comments and opinions.
Or we could just start a thread like 'What's going on in your Hosta Garden today'? That would be more generic and cover everything. LOL.

Nice pictures above. Yes, everyone, please keep posting pics of your hostas. I remember those alphabetical threads on DG. Not much happening there right now.

Julia, thank you for the kinds words. And I really like your 'Spilt Milk'. I think there are two distinct types of this plant around. Yours has more general misting than mine does - mine just has big white streaks of "milk".

BTW, if anyone has time to add a gardening chat list, the free one that Hallson gardens runs now has an index to all the threads about specific hostas, now listing a bit over 800 different hostas with multiple threads to some of them. http://www.perennialnursery.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=5...

I enjoyed seeing all your Hostas.

I am embarrassed to post pics. They grew so large last year with all the rain and by the end of the season I did not get a chance to divide and thin the herd. They were covering each other last year this year It is a jumbled mess.

I do not do names. I know most of them but some I do not remember after the move.

Great Expectation

Here's a few that I got Sunday while the gnats were taking a little break. Please ignore the weeds. I'm waiting for the nasty little bugs to be gone before I can get out there to do some serious weeding.

Thank you Virginia, the Coral Bell is Caramel. I have trouble keeping Coral Bells alive through the winter it is one that has done very well in my garden for a couple of years.
