Virginiarose,

That one is 'Blaze of Glory'. I split it this year and now have three of them!

Julia,

Thank you! It's supposed to be cooler for several days, so maybe I'll get some weeding done.

I love 'Blaze of Glory'! Does it have any problems with slugs, etc.?

@Cinta, Thanks! I think it looks really nice with GE and I would have never thought of that. I am getting ready to replace my 'Paul's Glory' with a GE so I will see about planting 'Caramel' near by! (Paul's Glory does not like this southern climate.)

Virginiarose,

I don't have a lot of problems with slugs, so I'm not sure.

I took a picture of my new woodland garden. This is the new home for many of my Hosta. I wish I had kept a list of all the plants I bought because now some of the names are lost and all I have is pretty foliage but I love them all anyway. Hosta 'Revolution' fighting it out for space with Epimedium. Hosta 'Halcyon' this one has almost blue foliage.

Cinta said:I enjoyed seeing all your Hostas.

I am embarrassed to post pics. They grew so large last year with all the rain and by the end of the season I did not get a chance to divide and thin the herd. They were covering each other last year this year It is a jumbled mess.

I do not do names. I know most of them but some I do not remember after the move.

Great Expectation

What a great idea using smaller hosta as ground cover. I just love that idea Jewell. ♥

There are a number of small hostas that divide easily and grow fast and make great ground covers. 'Limey Lisa', 'Lemon Frost', 'Tick Tock', and 'Lakeside Zinger' are just a few. There are pics of many of them in the pictures I recently shared from Ottawa.

How about 'Twist of Lime'? I do not have any of the others, but mine does pretty good considering how many times I accidentally stepped on it. LOL. Whistling

'Twist of Lime' is same family as 'Lemon Frost'. I have them growing side by side and it's hard to tell where one ends and the other starts.

'Cracker Crumbs' would probably work well.
http://garden.org/pics/2014-06...

I've never tried dividing it, but I bet 'Dragon Tails' would work well.
http://garden.org/pics/2014-06...

My 'Green Eyes' isn't even close to large enough yet, but I bet it would work well.
http://garden.org/pics/2014-06...

I have 'Kifukurin Ko Mame' as a border in 4 places. In the dryer spots it's not as large as here.
http://garden.org/pics/2014-06...

'Kinbotan' is well on its way to becoming a ground cover here.
http://garden.org/pics/2014-06...

This is the 'Lemon Frost' and at the far left of the border, you can see a bit of 'Twist of Lime'
http://garden.org/pics/2014-06...

'Lakeside Zinger'
http://garden.org/pics/2014-06...

Probably 'Stiletto' would work.
http://garden.org/pics/2014-06...

'Tick Tock' might be a bit higher than ideal, but it forms an extremely dense mound.
http://garden.org/pics/2014-06...

'Tiny Tears' would work well
http://garden.org/pics/2014-06...

I don't have a pic, on this computer, of 'Limey Lisa'. Can add it later. I've tried 'Lakeside Elfin Fire' but it prefers to be grown in a mound. I also have 'X-rated', but I don't think it would work well as a border. I planted mine in three groups when I divided it 3 years ago and it still hasn't really filled out as much as I'd like.
