Moths TOTALLY freak me out, and at first I thought they were moths! That is an awesome banner!!! I love how they are almost hiding, and you have to pay attention to see them clearly. Great job Ursula!

Wow yeah! I thought it was a banner depicting a log of some kind ... funny log, though, with to many precise "knots" in it! Then I finally saw ... how nature is so amazing at reproducing patterns and colors. This is one that invites a long and wondrous look.

Thanks so much All!
You know, I had forgotten that I submitted this Banner, so I was happily surprised to see it yesterday!
Josephine, here are the other pictures from that beautiful Mariposario http://garden.org/thread/view_...
I took that poster picture with the names of the Butterflies so I could look them up at home, unfortunately I can't make out this particular one on it. But I think it is an Owl Butterfly.

Thank you Ursula. Those are beautiful pictures, and I think you are right about the Owl butterfly.
I really like the way they display the chrysalis at the place, it is a very efficient way to display them.
I am sure you had a wonderful time that day

My first thought was Owl butterflies, too. Not sure if there are several species or just the one. But I've seen them in some of my Butterflies of the World books as well as on nature shows. From the pictures you took, that does look like a fascinating trip!
