really.. guess maybe you have a different one .. although I did root mine outside right before fall.. did you have them under a dome?

No - soaking in water and one is rooting. The other two are starting to look a little black in the stem. Still salvageable.
I have mixed results rooting under a dome, plastic bag, etc. Sometimes it works great, even too good where I get roots all the way up the stem. Other times they rot.

all of mine I rooted in soil... too many misses than hits with water and other types of plants.. but I do add polymer gels to the very bottom of the cell.. like bottom watering.. keeps more even moisture

I can't say I get more rooted with soil than water. Air circulation, sunlight and mold conditions factors more into it over here. Do you use coir or regular potting soil? Sometime the bag of soil is already moldy from being damp and closed. Those bags don't do well. I try to find bags kept indoors but that isn't any guarantee.

I am now the happy grower of Plectranthus thyrsoideus. They had extra plant available in their plant shop at Longwood Gardens. I was at the right place at the right time.

This blue flowering totally rocks. Now I pray I don't kill it from not keeping it happy. It apparently is difficult even for Longwood to grow.

I don't know of any place that sells the plant. I was lucky enough to buy an extra plant that Longwood Gardens made available to me. I will experiment with propagating it this summer and see if it is an easy one to root. I won't start cutting the plant until it starts putting on some more biomass.

Was it because you complained about them just throwing them away? Rolling on the floor laughing

At any rate, good luck with propagating them!
