I've got a little over half of mine stuck... no sign of wilting or anything yet, so I'm confident that when everyone else gets theirs Monday, they'll be fine.Thumb of 2011-04-10/Melissa/56a7bd

Mine arrived yesterday, looking perky and turgid! Got 'em all stuck, and they're still looking happy this morning Smiling

Looks like Melissa used pearlite, but I used Miracle Gro potting soil.

I have both and vermiculite too. I wondered if they rooted any better in something other than potting soil.

Mine are in a Promix equivalent. It's custom order potting mix. I always use a soil-less mix with good results.

Thanks Melissa! Got mine finished today! They sat in the house Friday night then in the greenhouse Saturday night and still looked good this morning. I spritzed some water in the bags while they were waiting since it was 90 in the greenhouse with the roof and doors open! They were all great!

Mystic received hers yesterday and go them finished.

I did the perlite, just because last year I did them in coir, and had a lot more loss than I've ever had before... always before I did the soil less mix too with good results... I just love the way they come out of the perlite so easily I think.

So far, my favorite one is the Chocolate. I did taxes most of the day today, then sowed some stuff... and I was just too tired to do the rest of the cuttings... I'll do them tomorrow evening.

No problem at all, thank YOU all for splitting the order. I wouldn't have 21 different varieties if ya'll hadn't joined me. Smiling

Now, I'm thinking Tropicals! ;)

I'm really liking Chocolate (the plant, not the candy, well, the candy too! LOL). It is so dark! You can barely see it once it's watered in because it's as dark as the soil-less mix!

Thanks everyone for doing the split! I'm so happy to have Coleus again!

Curious, how are you all going to grow your Coleus? In pots, mixed with other plants, single variety to a container, in the ground, all mixed together? I love the pics of gorgeous container plantings with a variety of complimentary plants, but I can't get them to do that. Something will do well, something else will suffer, the arrangement ends up looking lop sided and messy. It drives me nuts! I've finally accepted that I'm just no good at that, so it will be 1 variety of 1 kind of plant per container, then I'll just arrange the containers to look pretty. Any uglies can go to an infirmary area.

Hilarious! Neil..Last year I started out with intentions of doing just that, arranging them with complimentary plants...never got around to it with back issues just kind of planted them wherever I could with whatever...they wound up looking pretty good Thumbs up I do all mine in post none in the ground. One idea I do like is one large one in the middle and then some of the trailing ones around it.
