I have a photo of a daylily that I was told was called Stella Yella. When I put it in my list I found that there are actually two - Stella in Yella and Little Stella Yella. I am attaching the photo here but I would like to add it to my list. The photo is not great but could be put in my list if I knew which one to use. This is about the same size as Stella D'Oro but a pure light yellow bloom. Confused Confused

In trying to list my daylilies, I ran into several that are not listed on your database. I bought them from a mail order vendor about 15 years ago. How can they be added to the database so I can put them in my list? I have photos if needed. Also what do I do about daylilies that were given to me without names? I'm in my 70's so these are from a long time ago in another state, people that I have lost contact with.......just friends passing on their extras. Is there a category "unknown" daylily?

Welcome! maryjane.

You can add a new entry to the database by going to the link on the side column, Plant Database. There you will find a link to add the new entry.

http://garden.org/plants/

There is a parent database for unnamed plants, it can be found in the 'Browse by genus' list and will be at the top of the list for each genus there is a parent database for, here's the one for Hemerocallis ..

Daylilies (Hemerocallis)

Alternatively you can use the search box in the database, but for me searching for Hemerocallis doesn't bring up the parent page at the top.

Hi Mary Jane,

Welcome to All Things Plants! What a beautiful lemony yellow daylily bloom! I don't grow Daylilies myself and I don't know much about them so I can't offer help but we do have a Daylily forum here on ATP http://garden.org/forums/view/... with some very knowledgeable growers that I'm sure would be able to offer assistance.

Welcome!
There are two in the data base but neither has a picture, one is called 'Stella In Yella' and the other is actually called 'Little Yella Stella'.
They are both short and both have small blooms, but 'Stella In Yella' does show to be 15" tall compared to 'Little Yella Stella' at a tiny 10" tall.

My plant is about 15" tall so I assume it probably is Stella in Yella but that is no guarantee so I guess I should just list it as unknown. It was given to me with some Stella D'Oro but when it bloomed, you could tell the color was not a golden yellow but a paler lemon yellow. Thanks again to all who have tried to help!

Since you can't be sure of the exact cultivar you can add your photo to the database in the general daylily entry; scroll to the very bottom of this page to the section that says Adding Actions and click on upload photo: Daylilies (Hemerocallis)
