You do get a clump effect quicker that way, I guess. When I purchase iris, though, I only ever buy just one.....I'm cheap ! I have bought the same iris at different places, though....sometimes it's according to plan, in order to assure I get the "right" iris....but most times it because of 'senior moments !! I did that too, Arlyn! Two Haunted Hearts from two growers! I have senior moments too!
The good part is that I'll have some to share next year, if I'm lucky!

Ever have a day when you have lots of good intentions, and they all go to pot! I got an early start by getting the lawn mowed early, then I was supposed to have someone stop in to pick up a bunch of irises, I waited and waited, I was also supposed to get a box from NAPA today, and the postal worker ususally is here by 10:00 a.m. Well it got to be a round 11:30 and no mail, and no one to pick up their irises. So I thought I'd take a short nap. Sure as shooten I just lay down, and the mail carier drives in with not one box from NAPA, but 5 boxes, One from NAPA, one from Bay View, one from International Irises, one from Mary Ann Thank You! and a box of Daylilies from Maryott. So I'm all excited to start planting, and get them all looked over and the bonuses added to my data base, and I'm ready to start planting, right! Well, Just then in drives the person to pick up her irises, promptly 3 hours late, so I take them out to her, and she's a talker. I mean a real talker,(of course I'm one of the silent types! Rolling on the floor laughing ) so I spend an hour and a half showing her all the beds, and the veggie garden, answer her million and one questions, and finally she leaves. So now I don't have time to do any planting before chores, so I'm waisting the time typing this, and I will have to see if I have enough energy after feeding to plant. Oh well, they will keep untill tomorrow if need be. At least it's not hot and humid today. I got some really nice bonuses too. nodding

I really feel like taping a nap after reading Tom's post..

Jan, If you wanted to get rid of your extra Haunted Heart, I'll trade you a New Face for it (my accidental duplicate) Smiling

Mid-America came today
Chicklet
I'm Back
Star In the Night
Threatening
Variegated Wonder
All About Me (bonus)
Apple Crisp (gift)

Fortunately, I picked up 2 more bags of potting soil on my way home from a walk at the beach with girlfriends. Perfect weather there... A good 10 degrees hotter up here in the canyon. It should be almost reasonable outside after I take my nap nodding

I sent in a late order to Bluebird.. yes, indeed Jan... what was I thinking?

I forgot to mention that the guy who I buy hay from brought a load of hay today as well, and ususally that only takes a few minutes to drop off one wagon and pick up the empty one. He's ususally in a hurry to get back to work, but today, since he's all done with second crop, he decides to stand an chat for a half hour. I'm finished with my tuna salad sandwich, so going to run out and start planting. I want to get the ones I knew were coming in the ground at least before dark. It's nice and cool out. I'll let you know later what I got. TTFN

I looked at Plot Line because you said it was really nice, Mary Ann (and it is!); but I was strong and didn't look at the others. Whistling Hilarious! I have received so many this year from you and Bonnie and Arlyn and Tom and Brad and Leslie and Jan and Sue and Lori and Dave and Breezeway and Keppel and I know I'm forgetting someone...well, I have a plethora of beautiful ones to contemplate. Think I'll stick to admiring those for now. Sticking tongue out
