I LOVE daylilies with pattern eyes! Too many seem to be EV's that might not do well in my zone 4B. But I know there are a lot that would do well.
I have these:
Little Print
Mokan Butterfly
Stencilled Impressions
Mystical Rainbow
Paper Butterfly

Do you have others that do well? (Not just barely survive.)

Look up Karol Emmerich's plants, namely ENTWINED IN THE VINE and HANDWRITING ON THE WALL.

I have HANDWRITING ON THE WALL and it does very well here. The pattern is better once it settles in.

I'm in zone 4 and have always loved the patterned daylilies. Back in the 90's they were hard to find, but now with the popularity are a bit easier. Stenciled Impressions and Mystical Rainbow are a few that have been here a very long time and do very well. A few others that are reliable and grow in zone 4 for me are....

Huckleberry Candy, lightly patterned, some days more, some less, good plant.

Screen Pattern, great pattern, lacks branching/budcount this far north, but a gorgeous pattern.

Jerry Hyatt, one of my all time favorite daylilies, will always be here.

In Taffeta Patterns, another favorite, the pattern changes more than with Jerry Hyatt.

Man in the Maze, a changing pattern and form.

Labyrinth, this one has been here since introduction and has done really well.

Shattered Illusions, dormant with a consistent pattern, looks the same every day.

There's a Place, love this one, cool lavender/orchid with a bluish watermark.

Marseilles Watercolor, registered as evergreen but has been here and growing happy 6 years now.

I think he has finished shipping for the year. It's a good source, though, to check during the winter months.

I grew Lavender Rainbow for several years early on. Finally tossed it on the compost pile after frustration with blasted scapes every year. Back then word had it that the tendency for scape blasting came from Tet. Priscilla's Rainbow. I never grew Priscilla's Rainbow so can't say for certain, but if you are using Lavender Rainbow for hybridizing it may be something you want to watch for in the seedlings.

I had Hidden Rainbow and it scape bursts every time it seems like. I have even duct taped them up and they still bloom!

What is scape blasting? No hybridizing for me! It grows like rabbits for me, if I have it named correctly.

Scape blasting is when the scape "explodes" horizontally or splits vertically. Usually I see it after a few days of hot dry weather, then a front comes through with heavy downpours. Scapes may tip over with a section still attached, be just cracked or blown completely off.

This is an image I took a few days ago of one with two areas blasted...

The AHS Daylily Dictionary has a page showing the different types of blasting and an explanation.

Yes, Lavender Rainbow was a good grower here, too. Just frustrating with the blasting and as new patterns came along I replaced it ...I think with Stenciled Impressions.

I have seen that on one DL plant this year, but it was a black one. I have stenciled impressions too; I hope it will multiply for me like lav rainbow has.
