Considering you're in UT, these things are blowing me away! Time for a taller ceiling I guess for the banana. : )

Absolutely!

Your sphagnum moss is growing weeds (mine does all the time). This is what live sphagnum looks like:

I got tired of the middle man so added Drosera leaves directly to sphagnum moss and kept the water level just above them until they started to sprout. I'd post a photo but gave them to daughter. I'll ask her for a photo.

Of course, there are many species (and colors) of sphagnum moss. In fact in older growth bogs, there is often a tapestry of species, with colonies intermixing throughout.

Succulents! These are leaves that were purposely or inadvertently removed from plants while refreshing, trimming, repotting things for spring. When each shows roots, I will lay them on soil surface somewhere.

Tiffany that is how I propagate my succulents too. Cuttings and leaves of succulents are easy to propagate. I've learned that the best way to improve my odds in making sure I don't have to buy succulents anymore (yeah right I will still find an excuse) is to propagate constantly.

LOL! I will always buy more if I see one I don't already have - that is not prickly. Some of those in my pic might be toast after 2 nights of frost. Phil said it would be an early spring, which was true, but he didn't say anything about another frost later. How much can we expect from a groundhog anyway? LOL!

My SIL gave me a rooted young plant and some leaves to start more. Perle. She does not bring plants inside for winter, just piles them in a sheltered corner on her porch. I didn't realize Perle was so hardy until I saw that it survived that.

Tamarillo. They were so tasty that I scooped some seeds to grow. I didn't have much hope they would germinate even though they'd been grown locally. Oh, how wrong I was to doubt the determined little buggers.

No idea where I am going to put them all.
I have found that coffee, tea, and rose can all agree on one thing... water everyday.

Out of 10 seeds, I have 7 baby Monkey Puzzles. #3 is the first to grow branches. Its only about 3 inches tall - a good pot candidate.

Thumb of 2024-04-25/Lucy68/6be19d

My first Monkey Puzzle was 50 years old when it fell (I got it as a rooted cuttings a long, long time ago). I don't think I will live to see any of these little trees reach adulthood. Well, maybe... that's only 50 years away. Rolling on the floor laughing

The time to plant a monkey puzzle tree is 50 years ago, the next best time is now. I tip my hat to you.

Lucy you can enjoy your monkey tree seedlings and pretend they are miniatures. Put in fancy pots.

They are tricky to transplant so will have to live in their ugly tree sleeves for a couple more years.

I started 6 or 7 trees from seeds daughter got in England about 15 years ago. There is only one survivor and its less than 3 ft. tall (they aren't fast growers). I lost at least one with every transplant. I later learned I needed to let them gain age and size before transplanting.

I have started propagating my adenium cuttings for back up and also because I like the straight stem look. Cuttings can be pretty too:

Oh, I have to show you my baby Adeniums (your seeds). They're so cute, about 3 inches tall now and very chubby. Out of the 12, three are growing branches.
