Okay, here he is:

You can still sort of see (or I can) his caterpillar banding on the "belly" area.

Oh yeah great photo of the chrysalis! I'm hoping my monarch did okay today in the butterfly habitat.

Oh you had to leave him! I bet he's just fine, he's in a designed environment, not a jury-rigged jug like mine!

Yeah their wings need time to dry but I had to leave for work. I hope he/she is okay in there!

Okay, well, I'm guessing no news is good news. Lovey dubby

I made myself get some things done outside today, and didn't take pictures of any of it! I finished the rock border around my new little bed, and planted out the remainder of that flat of pansies. And that was enough!

But then I remembered, I did take one picture, before I got into all that, of a late gardenia blossom. We haven't had many this year even though there are two huge plants. I read an article saying that the whole region had fewer blooms on perennials, in general, due to dry conditions. Huh.

Anyway, somehow while I was poking at the camera, I managed to change the settings from the email-easy small file pictures, to the nice big ones everyone here likes!

For this, I was also trying to capture a lovely spider web that was in front of the blossom, but I am not that skilled. You can see, to the left of the flower, a line of out of focus dots. That's the spider in the middle and features of the web above and below.

Sorry for the delay--Back to School Night last night and home too late to do any posting.

3 gorgeous new Monarchs yesterday--looks like 2 female and one male. Such fun to spend time with them before they flew off, one by one.

5th Monarch just eclosed!

Thumb of 2014-09-19/Catmint20906/3ba6b3

I'm working at home today so I can enjoy him/her for longer. So sad it's my last one--it's really been wonderful! The 5 BST cats still need to eclose, but they are more skittish--a different experience from the Monarchs.
