I am really grumpy about it. Too much snow and here I was hoping since it is mid March we would be done with the white stuff for the season.

In our area, heavy snow looks certain from Monday night through Tuesday night. Assuming the forecast is the same for you, Robinbunch, I would say driving to Philadelphia on Wednesday should be fine if you stick to major roads.

Robin, will you be there during the day Wednesday? If so, we'll have to meet up!

In Frederick, they're calling for snow continuing through Wednesday, but I think most of it will fall tomorrow night. We're planning to leave before 4 on Wednesday and figure it'll be no problem by then for sure. (But just in case we have a reservation at the airport motel 6 Wednesday night!)

We switched to Day's Inn across from the show for MOnday & Tuesday nights.

They were already salt-water spraying the main roads today. I think main roads will be treated well, as long as you can get out of your neighborhood.
Plant it and they will come.

Just saw the forecast on Fox5 at 07:30

The advice was that if you're going to be out today, be home by 7:00pm, 7:3- at the latest. The mess starts between 7 and 7:30 this evening and continues through the night. Everything from DC North and West is going to get something. Somewhere in the wee hours of Tuesday morning, the southern edge will transition from snow to rain. The problem is that they don't know how far north that change will move. Loving at the animation, there are pockets ans swirls of rain that come close to DC, but don't quite make it.

It's going to be an interesting ride folks!

If all goes according to "plan", we sit in the local sweet spot of the upcoming storm, waiting for the supposed inevitable like humanity watching the progress of an onrushing asteroid. Dismay and resignation, dread and exasperation. A major snowstorm in January is to be expected, in the middle of March after a record warm February is unwarranted, uncalled for,, unacceptable! I'd like to speak to the management!

Up here in Vermont we are to expect 12 to 18 inches from this storm. White out conditions likely most of afternoon early evening. Schools haven't closed yet so [t looks like Gramma will make the two block trek with the Grandsons in am and then afternoon return. Too bad I only brought my short boots!

Daughter just announced that twin births spike during blizzards and full moons! Yeah time is getting closer for little human sprouts to emerge.

Rolling on the floor laughing Good one David.
Judy, you'll need waders by pm. Hilarious!
I'd say we have an impressive 10-12 inches so far. I'm sure I made a mistake in not bringing the snowblower to the garage. It's setting in the front of the barn, primed and ready, maybe. Rolling on the floor laughing

All definitely heading to Vermont through tomorrow am. Schools closed. May still trek out for a bit...might as well check out blizzard and whiteout and classic Noreaster within our own block! Have about 3 inches so far and could go to 20 or more. Vermont snow is different than Maryland...must be lower temps and higher altitude and lots of land up the east coast to gather momentum. Definitely feel like I am not in Kansas anymore. And the twins have passed on the full moon/blizzard statistics at least for the moment

Nice to see you back online, CAM!

We only got a few inches of snow here, but it was very heavy. The only nice part about shoveling were the breaks we took to chat with neighbors we never see outside otherwise.

I'm happy you made it up there safely, Mariposa, and am glad the twins decided to wait out the blizzard Smiling

Anxiously awaiting the birth of the grandy Sprouts!!!!

A little snow with frenzy rain here. Sky is clear at the moment. Thawing occurring so trees are straightening up some. Thankful they weren't leafed out. We got much less snow than was forecast here.

Happy to say that our predicted foot of snow did not materialize; we only received about 4 inches, a near death experience downgraded to a mere inconvenience. Smiling With the seasonal re-emergence of CAM, spring must indeed be imminent. Welcome!

Thanks, Susan and David. Big Grin

We got about 8 or 9 inches of very wet and heavy snow here. Much better than the 15-20 they were calling for so I'll take it. Let's hope that's the last gasp of winter for the year and we can begin the Spring gardening soon. I'll be putting down another 100 bags of mulch again pretty soon.

The blooming of forsythia is supposed to be an indicator of the time to apply corn gluten to one's lawn for crabgrass suppression. I wonder if spreaders are available with snow tires?

Ha, David... yes, I saw forsythia in bloom yesterday too. I put the crabgrass preventer down too late last Spring and I paid for it, had to work hard in the Fall to get rid of it all. I'm going to put it down as soon as the snow melts... probably this weekend.
