I don't have that one or I would gladly share.

Jan If your source doesn't work out and you can stand to wait - I should have enough of that one to split in the spring.

Thanks Pam! Well, the reason I don't have one is that I ordered a three-fer from Bayview Gardens. I ordered Applause Line, Montmartre, and Gypsy Lord. I got my check back with the note that Joe was out of the first two, but had some
Gypsy Lord. I should probably just tell him to send me a Gypsy Lord and choose the other two for me! But at this late date I'm thinking I should just wait till next year - unless someone here was dividing.
My first-world problems! Hilarious!

I now have 76 named varieties plus a bunch of noIDs. I started with 3 this year. Maybe I can wait until next year too.

I have obtained a few lilies too.

I am going to hybridize whatever yard plants I can. That should satisfy my science girl nerdiness; well, until I order the greenhouse. I want a "conservatory". That will cost more than a few rhizomes. Rolling on the floor laughing

Remember iris seeds like cold so expensive greenhouse is unnecessary for them.

maybe I should be knocking on Joe's door to see if he's got more Gypsy Lord.. I've been staying away from that part of town so i wouldn't be tempted... What are a few more??? Whistling

Santa Cruz - I've only been to the Boardwalk many years ago.
If Joe's got plenty of GLs could you let me know? Smiling

The expensive greenhouse is for me! I want an Endless Pool, a biomass wood stove with a hot water heater that can be plumbed into the house's system, and a dark polished concrete slab floor to collect heat all winter. Iris seeds will just have to go in the freezer and fridge before they get the expensive (wish list) conservatory. Smiling If I add a water based therapy to my health center, the whole thing can be depreciated off my taxes.
Don't make fear based decisions.

I went be Joe's today... No 'Gypsy Lord', but he had a cute MTB in bloom called 'Foxy Ferret' that I grabbed, and a Tasco intro called 'Subtle Beauty'.. and I got some zucchini that he was selling too...

As I was driving up my road on the way home, I was thinking that I really must have a hole in the head to be picking up more Iris.. Got to my mailbox, and found my HIPS order had arrived.. Sadly, the two I really wanted (Aphrodite and Pink Magnolia) were not included in the order. I gave a good list of alternates, so I got plenty...
Chantilly
First Violet
Helen Collingwood
Jean Cayeaux
Mary Pickford
Rheingauperle
Valor
Lady Mohr
Gypsy Baron
Joan Crawford (I said no wire hangers!)
Nob Hill
Titan's Glory

I know some of you donated to HIPS... Did I get any of your donations?? If so... Thank You!
