Update for early October. I am lost.

I think the honeydew-fed Sooty Fungus has won. It is amazing that a tiny leaf-hopper has done all this.

Two more branches have fallen off. The stench emanating from the fallen tops is characteristic, strong and revolting.




You can see from where the branch tops have fallen because of the fungal rot. They are the black-tipped stubs.

Are there others like it in your area and do any of them show the same disease, Glen?

Sharon, most aren't but it is still a substantial number on the island. I could lobby the Council into action but I have been doing such things most of my life. I just want to garden and lay by the fire with my cats. (I haven't got a fireplace but that doesn't matter).
